Field Play Chinese New Year – Year of the Rooster Animate This

Friday January 27th 2017
Dear Parents, Family and Friends
Field Play
Mondays will be allocated as the day children may use the field and outside play
equipment. As the ground is very muddy at this time of year, may we suggest that those
children wishing to play on the field bring in their wellies (or other suitable footwear) and a
spare pair of trousers.
Chinese New Year – Year of the Rooster
We will be celebrating the Chinese New Year on Monday with a range of class-based
activities. If any parents would like to help, please see your child’s class teacher.
Animate This!
An animator came into school on Thursday and ran a workshop for the Sharks class.
They learned about sanitation during the 1800s in Bridport. The class then drew pictures
which will be used in an animation to be shown in the Bridport Museum.
Sports Club
Mrs McGrath and Mrs Hill will jointly be running the after school Sports Club on
Wednesdays in future, with a mix of more formal netball and fun-based ball skills. This is
open to children from Years 2 to 6 – please see Mrs McGrath if your child is interested in
taking part.
Breakfast Club
There is a new booking form for the next half term available in the foyer. The maximum
number of pupils that can attend the club at present is limited to 10. Please ensure that
you book for both the breakfast club and the earlies in advance to avoid disappointment.
Fire Alarm
In the unlikely event that the fire alarm sounds while parents are on site, please make
your way to the quiet area (the playground alongside the large gate). If you are in one of
the school buildings, follow the fire exit signs for a safe exit from the building.
Rev Jan Delaney
Some of you may be aware that Rev Jan Delaney is leaving the Parish. If you wish to
donate towards a leaving present for her, contributions may be left in the office. Her final
assembly will be in the church on Thursday 23rd February at 9.15am.
E-Safety Session
A reminder that there will be an e-safety session for parents in the Sedum Room at after
school on Wednesday 9th February with the latest information on how to keep your
children safe on-line. A crèche is available.
Parents Forum Meeting
The next Parents Forum Meeting will be held in the Sedum Room on Thursday 23 rd
February at 3.30pm. Myself, Andrea Rice, Gerard Rourke and Ian Gowrie will be
attending. If you have a question you would like raised at the meeting please fill in the
slip on the letters sent home with your child(ren) on Thursday of this week. There will be
a crèche available in the Seals’ classroom.
