Everything You Need to Know About Gala 2017
Date & Times: Saturday, April 22, 2017; Doors open at 5pm, Dinner at 6 pm, Speakers at 8pm, Dance at 9pm

Tickets:
Guests can select from three meal options; a regular meal, vegetarian meal or a youth meal.
- Each is priced at $80 which includes a beautiful 3 courses with dancing and activities. Please
note the youth meal offers the same salad and dessert as the regular meal option but the
main course will appeal to guests who prefer straightforward flavours.
**Important – please refer to the menu and photos at the end of this document to see which
meal is suitable for you and your guests.**
Women’s Eve is an opportunity to celebrate Calgary Girls' School. Families, including dads, grand dads and
brothers are encouraged to attend along with our school staff and be a part of our celebration and experience a
night out with a formal dinner, inspirational speakers, followed by a dance!
Tickets:
 Tickets can be purchased online on February 14th by going through your Family Account in Family Zone
(same place as you pay for field trips etc.). There is a special category for Women’s Eve Tickets on the
navigation bar to your left. These are to be paid for by credit card or debit card. You must have a student in
the school to use this system. If you want tickets but do not have a daughter at the school, please call Laurie
Heather at the school office to make arrangements for tickets and payment (403-220-0745)


When you purchase your tickets you will be picking your table as well. If there is someone you wish to sit
with, you should coordinate in advance with them or remember your table number so that you can pass on
that information to them and they can reserve the same table.


If you have any special dietary needs, please make mention of them when you buy your tickets.


You will not receive an actual ticket. Be sure to write down your table number (table maps with assigned
names will be set up at the event in case you forget)


Tickets sold quickly last year. Book early for the best seats!
Meal: Please find the menu on page three. The meal has no pork or seafood. The Westin is very accommodating
for special food requirements ordered prior to the evening of the event. Please be sure to include any special
dietary needs on the online ticket order form, when you are purchasing your tickets. Your assigned table waiter
will be aware of dietary needs at your table. All special dietary needs must be received by the Westin Hotel by
April 15, 2017.
Beverages: There will be several cash bars featuring child friendly beverages, signature mocktails and sodas, as
well as water stations. Please note Women’s Eve Gala will be an alcohol-free event.

The Westin is offering a special rate for those who want to make this night extra special with a sleepover!
The Westin has provided us with two special offers:
$129+taxes for Traditional 2 double beds ~or~ $159+taxes for Business 2 double beds + breakfast
Special CGS price is available until April 7th or subject to availability.
A personalized Website for Calgary Girls' School Women's Eve Gala has been created. Guests can access the site
to book, modify, or cancel a reservation until April 20, 2017. Please see the Calgary Girls’ School Website for
information.
Check in time at the Hotel is 3:00 pm and check out is 12:00 noon.
Parking Suggestions:
Parking in the Westin lot is costly, you can find more affordable weekend underground parking across from the
Westin on 4th Ave at the Metropolitan Centre: 333 4 Ave SW, or to the east of the Westin at Jamieson Place: 308
- 4th Ave SW. Please allow extra time to drop off. The line up to be dropped off at the front doors of the hotel is
usually quite a long wait as this is where the valet parking and hotel guest check in is as well.

Student Art Silent Auction, Basket Raffle, Silent Auction, Professional Photographer, Heads or Tails Games,

Women of Influence recipients: Students in grades 4, 6 and 8 write nominations for women who have
influenced their life. Three women will be honored this evening.
