CHAPTER 1
International Fleet Charge Select
Pricing
Introduction
Prior to INFO 5 Release 7.1A, special pricing by stock class was limited to Prices 1-5 that were available in the Item
Master. With Release 7.1A and later releases, clients can now pull additional prices from all available fields
(including Prices A-J) from the Price Master using Message Member 3192. This allows for much greater pricing
flexibility. For example, International clients can now use Price A (Dealer Net Price, or COST) Price B (Retail Price,
or LIST), Price C (Trade Price), Price D (Major Fleet Price) or Price E (National Fleet Price) to set their pricing.
This manual will explain the setup steps necessary to implement this enhancement; it is intended for International
clients, but all clients can use this functionality, which is also known as “Special Pricing by Stock Class Using the
Price Master”.
Setup
Message Member 3192, Position 15
The Price Pointer field in the Special Parts Pricing Maintenance screen (shown in Figure 4 on page 1-6) identifies
the base price level being used to calculate the Special Parts Pricing. Normally, your entry would be one of the five
numeric price levels in the Item Master record: 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5.
If you have Message Member 3192, position 15 set to Y, you can set special pricing by stock class to a price pointer
other than the five prices from the Item Master. If your vendor has supplied additional prices that you are not storing
in the item file, you can enter an alpha character (A-J) corresponding to the pricing level from the tape as the price
pointer in special pricing by stock class. Pricing for any part in that stock class will be pulled from that price pointer
in the Price Master.

NOTE ---> Message Member 3192, Position 15
As long as Message Member 3192, position 15 is set to Y, the Price Pointer field will
allow for both alpha and numeric characters (in other words, some parts will be able
to point to the normal price pointer in the item file and others will be able to point to a
price pointer from the price master file). However, if you decide you will no longer be
using alpha pointers and change Message Member 3192, position 15 to N, all alpha
pointers that are still within the time frame of being a special-priced part by stock
class will need to be changed back to numeric pointers or deleted.
If Message Member 3192 is set to N, set it to Y at this time.
Establish Stock Class Records that Will Be Used for Pricing
If you do not have the stock classes set up at this time that you will be basing special pricing from, set them up at the
time using Menu AMNTP, Option 4 Maintain Stock Class Records.
Note that at this time you can set up stock classes for proprietary vendors and other vendors. For example, set up a
stock class of INTP for International Proprietary vendors (parts bought directly from International) and INTV for
non-International vendors (parts bought from vendors other than International).
Instructions on setting up stock class records can be found in Book 3, Chapter 1 of the INFO 5 Parts Manual.
Run Price Tape ID
After you have finished setting up the stock class references, run a price tape update via Menu APRICE, Option 2
Update Prices from Price Tape. This will put the parts in their appropriate stock classes.
Instructions on running a price tape update can be found in Book 6, Chapter 1 of the INFO 5 Parts Manual.
Special Pricing by Stock Class Setup
Next, you must set up your special pricing using the stock classes that you maintained previously.
Select Menu AMNTP, Option 9 Maintain Special Parts Pricing and press ENTER. On the screen that follows, shown
in Figure 1, select Option 1 for Stock Class in the Processing Option field.

Stock Class
The Stock Class field displays the current stock class for which you are setting up special pricing. This field
cannot be changed.
Price Tape ID
Enter the Price Tape ID that contains the fields from which you will be establishing special pricing. When you
press ENTER, all of the valid price pointers that are allowed for this price tape ID will be displayed on the next
line.
Price Pointer
Price Pointer identifies the base price level being used to calculate the Special Parts Pricing. Normally, your
entry will be one of the five numeric price levels in the Parts master record: 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5.
If you have Message Member 3192, position 15 set to Y, you can set special pricing by stock class to a price
pointer other than the five prices from the item master. If your vendor has supplied additional prices that you are
not storing in the item file, you can enter an alpha character (A-J) corresponding to the pricing level from the
tape as the price pointer in special pricing by stock class. Pricing for any part in that stock class will be pulled
from that price pointer in the Price master.
NOTE ---> Message Member 3192, Position 15
You will need to refer to your price tape specification sheet that came with your price tape CD to determine the
differences between the price fields.
NOTE ---> Cost and List
A is always Cost, and B is always List.
Discount/Markup
Discount/Markup identifies the percentage of the Price Pointer price which should be marked up or discounted
for this special. To enter a Markup, use the FIELD+ key. To indicate a discount, use the FIELD- key.
From Date, To Date
From Date and To Date identify the range of dates that this special pricing record is in effect. Both dates should
be entered in MMDDYY format (i.e. December 1, 2010, would be entered as 120110).
Counter Active
Counter Active determines whether or not the special pricing is applicable to parts sold at the front counter. Enter
Y if the special pricing applies; enter N if the special pricing does not apply at the front counter.

and therefore create a stock class specials pricing record.
This completes the setup steps required to use International Fleet Charge Select Pricing.
