Spring Japan to Launch Two New Routes.
A First for a national carrier to serve Harbin (29 January～)
and a direct service to Tianjin from Narita (28 January～）
Spring Japan (IATA Code: IJ) will launch services from Narita to Tianjin and Narita to Harbin. The
Tianjin route will offer non-stop service to Tianjin from Narita while the Harbin route will be a new
destination operated by a Japanese carrier. These new services will offer easy access not only for
increasing numbers of passengers from China but also for travelers from Japan.
Tianjin is one of the four direct-controlled municipalities of China and the largest trading port in the
country's northern region. A former foreign settlement in the region is a tourist destination today with
a townscape that reflects the mix of Chinese and Western cultures of the time. Harbin, the capital of
China’s northernmost Heilongjiang province is called the Moscow of the East with its exotic atmosphere
of the streets and townscape. Every January, thousands of tourists in China and from abroad visit the
city for the traditional winter Harbin International Ice and Snow Sculpture Festival.
Spring Japan flies more routes between Japan and China than any other Japanese low cost carriers.
Utilizing Narita as its hub, the airline continues to expand its network with new services to Chongqing
and Wuhan commenced in February 2016 and added the domestic services to New Chitose in August
and to Kansai in September, on top the established services to Hiroshima and Saga.
Narita Airport is delighted that these new routes will offer more convenient access to the north east
region of China. Another good reason for travelers to take advantage of Narita Airport's extensive
network.
