We will be making a graphic organizer to compare
and contrast each chapter (5, 7, 8)
Divide a piece of composition paper into 3 columns
(TGG 2013, TGG Novel, TGG 1974)
Each column should have 4 categories
(Characterization, Plot,Visuals, Music)
As we watch, record how each movie handles these
elements in each chapter.
Pay special attention when a movie does something
different than the book.

Which movie is a better version of The Great Gatsby?


Evaluate 1 chapter from both movies (chapter 5, chapter 7,
chapter 8).
Support your evaluation with examples from both movies
(or from the actual novel).

FCA 1: Create an essay with a clear main idea that is supported with
examples throughout (at least 3 per body paragraph).



At least 1 body paragraph should explain why the other version of the
movie is inferior.
FCA 2: Use a 5 paragraph essay format (introduction, 3 body
paragraphs, conclusion).
