Any others, except 10th place will go to GCCL Division 1. Tier 4. The team that comes last in 2015 WEPL Glos Div will go to GCCL Division 2. There could be a vacancy in the new Glos Div Tier 3 – the GCCL Champion will then go up. 5 WEPL 2nd XIs AT THE END OF 2015 SEASON: • WEPL will do promotion & relegation as if there was to be no change • Top 4 teams in Prem 1 2nd XI go to new Tier 3, staying in WEPL • Rest of Prem 1 2nd XI go to Tier 4 (i.e. County League Div 1) • Prem 2 2nd XI’s go in a block to a County League Division • Glos/Wilts 2nd XI’s ….ditto…. • Glos Div 2nd XI’s ….ditto…. Each County League determines the best level for each of these blocks of teams 6 WEPL 2nd XIs – levels in GCCL We have very good evidence that shows the Gloucester Division 2nd XI teams are mostly at the level of the top half of our current Division 5 / bottom half of Division 4. So that is the right place for them. The 2nd XIs from higher WEPL Divisions therefore go in at points above that. 7 CURRENT GCCL FROM WEPL Prem 1 Div 2nd XIs if any Prem 2 Div 2nd XIs Glos/Wilts Div 2nd XIs Glos Div 2nd XIs 8 GCCL 2016 We estimate that we will be accepting from WEPL… Into Division 1 ~1 Glos Div 1st XIs and or Glos/Wilts 1st XI 0 Prem 1 2nd XIs Into Division 2 1 Glos Div 1st XI 1 Prem 2 2nd XI Into Division 3 5 Glos 2nd XIs from Glos/Wilts Tier Into Division 5 9 Glos Div 2nd XIs 9 At the end of 2015 in GCCL we can’t do normal promotion and relegation because we must fit in all the new teams from WEPL. We need to rank all our teams on a single ladder and fill up each new Division using this ordering. The order needs to reward teams that would have been promoted, to place them among the teams in the Division above. 10 RANKING METHOD TO BE USED FOR GCCL TEAMS (using end 2014 Divisions for illustration) Div 1 Div 2 11 Cheltenham Civil Service Cirencester Charlton Kings Frampton On Severn Redmarley Kingsholm Cinderford St John Oldlands Birdlip & Brimpsfield Poulton Westbury-on-Severn Cam Frocester 3 Woodpeckers Stone Newent Shurdington Slaughters Utd Hatherley & Reddings 3 GCP Cheltenham Civil Service Cirencester Charlton Kings Frampton On Severn Redmarley Kingsholm Westbury-on-Severn Cinderford St John Cam Oldlands Frocester 3 Birdlip & Brimpsfield Woodpeckers Poulton Stone Newent Tetbury Shurdington Cranham Slaughters United 2016 Division 1 1 (say) WEPL Glos Div 1st XIs 9 GCCL Teams (Ranking 1-9 ) Division 2 1 WEPL 1st XI 2 WEPL 2nd XI 8 GCCL teams (Nos 10-17) Division 3 5 WEPL 2nd XIs 5 GCCL teams (Nos 18-22) Division 4 10 GCCL teams (Nos 23-32) 12 Division 5 9 WEPL 2nd XIs 1 GCCL team (No 33) Division 6 10 GCCL teams (Nos 34-43) Division 7 7 GCCL teams (Nos 44-50) District & CGF winners (Option: have just 6 divisions and move 7 GCCL teams to District or CGF) CGF Division will be part of GCCL in 2015 but from 2016 may be run jointly by West Glos and Chelt & Glos Districts rather than GCCL. WHAT NOW? GCCL will talk with Districts and representatives of the CGF Division to discuss whether we have 70 or 60 teams in GCCL, including or excluding District winners and CGF winners. We also need to consult the teams joining from WEPL about playing regulations and facilities criteria. 13 Information This Presentation and the hand-outs will be on the GCCL web site. Ask your club members to look out for it. Our normal monthly newsletters will give further news. 14 “Live” display Once 2015 games start there will be a display on the web, updated through the season, showing who will go where depending on the current League positions. The display will show the whole of WEPL and all the County leagues Everyone will be able to see, with this, how they are currently faring and what would happen if they moved up in their division or down. 15
