‘Making a Mark’
Mark Holder Social Impact Declaration
2nd Chance Group CIC
2nd Chance Group CIC has been using the power of sport for social good
across the UK and beyond since 2008.
We manage and grow a portfolio of projects and
enterprises including:
 2nd Chance Project
 Coachmakers
 National Alliance of Sport for the Desistance
of Crime
We work with disadvantaged communities,
people with criminal records, both in prison
and the community, and young people who
wish to work in the sport and active leisure
sector.
Our aim is for 2nd Chance Group to become recognised as the leading
Social Enterprise promoting the power of sport as a tool for social good.
The Social Enterprise Mark criteria includes a requirement for all
applicants and renewing Mark Holders to provide at least three ‘social
impact statements’, which illustrate how they are striving to meet their
social/environmental objectives.
Below are examples of how 2nd Chance Group CIC is making a mark,
striving to make a difference to society:

Launched National Alliance of Sport for the
Desistance of Crime (NASDC)
As a pioneer in the use of sport for desistance from crime, we
are proud to have launched a national alliance, which supports
all stakeholders across England and Wales in the use of sport
for the prevention and desistance of crime.
The NASDC provides a vital platform and resource to support
its members and promote the power of sport.
Supporting young people into employment

increase sport and physical activity and support aspiring coaches
