Tips on Creating
& Using Agents

Use the “test” function to
preview search results before
adding the Smart Agent to your
library. If the results are too
broad or narrow, refine the
search criteria and re-test.

Using a Smart Agent is easy. Open the SalesView dashboard and select the Agents
you’d like to apply. SalesView lets you choose from a large–and growing–number
of Standard Agents that identify compelling business events applicable to a variety
of sales strategies, such as: leadership changes, new product offerings, acquisitions,
expanding operations, and litigation (for a complete list, see sidebar). When
SalesView detects any of the selected events occurring in your target accounts, it
alerts you immediately. The results are displayed in your pipeline dashboard and
delivered in daily or weekly email alerts.
Often it’s easiest to “reverse
engineer” a Smart Agent by
finding press releases or other
news items that report the type
of event you’re interested in.
Look at keywords and phrases
used, and apply these to create a
Custom Agent.
