By road
NB: Please note there is a one way system around
Cheltenham town centre
From the North
Leave the M5 at Junction 10, entering Cheltenham
on the A4019. This becomes a dual carriageway
(you will see Sainsburys to your left) remain on it
passing over a major roundabout and crossing
over a bridge. After passing a large Tesco on your
right, turn right at the traffic lights on to the B4663.
Pass over a pedestrian crossing (you will see the
Hop Pole Pub on your left). Continue through the
next set of traffic lights (you will see JJB on your
right). Continue on this road and take the third left
turn at a set of traffic lights into St George’s Road.
(If you pass Travis Perkins you have missed your
turn). Follow St George’s Road for over half a mile
to the bottom of the hill (you will see a sign for Art
Gallery and Museum) turn left at the traffic lights.
Take the second left turn into St James Square.
Continue to a roundabout and turn right and first
left into St James Square, this brings you to the
front of the building.
From the South
If you arrive from the south you will use
Junction 11 and the A40. Stay on this heading
for the centre until you fork left (opposite a Shell
garage on your right) onto the B4633, following
signs for the railway station. Pass the station and
go straight over a small roundabout, then take
the second right onto St George’s Road. Follow
St George’s Road for over half a mile to the
bottom of the hill (you will see a sign for Art Gallery
and Museum) turn left at the traffic lights. Take the
second left turn into St James Square. Continue
to a roundabout and turn right and first left into
St James Square, this brings you to the front of
the building.
By Rail
Cheltenham Spa Railway Station is less than
a mile/approximately a 20 minute walk from
St James House. On arrival, cross the station car
park and join the cycle path either from the car
park or by leaving the main entrance and crossing
Queen’s Road. Follow the path for approximately
half a mile (10–15 mins) and bear right at a fork
before an overpass. Continue into Waitrose car
park and join Jessop Avenue. Turn left at the
roundabout (St. James House is now on your left)
continue round to the main entrance.
Where to park?
There is no parking at St James House for visitors
to the office, however there is a pay and display
car park adjacent. (Turn left at the last roundabout).
