Site Suggestions Form
In order to allocate sites for future provision for Gypsies, Travellers and Travelling Showpeople, the Central
Lancashire authorities (South Ribble, Chorley and Preston) must identify potential sites. The Issues and
Options Document therefore also includes a ‘call for sites’ exercise encouraging potential sites to be put
forward for consideration. Any sites put forward will be assessed, along with potential sites identified by the
Central Lancashire authorities, using the methodology set out in section 5 of the document. Preferred sites
for allocation will then be proposed and formally consulted on before the Gypsies and Travellers and
Travelling Showpeople Local Plan is finalised and submitted to the Secretary of State for Examination.
The consultation period is being undertaken during for a 6 week period from 20 May to 1 July 2016. The
deadline for responses to be received is 5pm. Responses are received after this time will not be
considered.
