Staff Member In Charge Experience: Coaching experience at Secondary School level or in Community Sport at the elite level, with experience coaching junior athletes desirable. First Team Coach Qualifications: Essential - Employment Working With Children Check, Level 1 First Aid qualification, Anaphylaxis certification Desirable – Valid NSAC coaching accreditation or equivalent Personal Attributes: Self-motivated, well organized, mature, team-oriented, reliable, personable and with an ability to relate to diverse stakeholders. ROLE KEY RESULT AREAS KEY TASKS (KRA) Induction & Orientation CAULFIELD GRAMMAR SCHOOL KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS (KPI) Participation in the New Coach Induction day Participation in the Campus-based Season Briefing Participation in the Sports-specific Professional Development Session Page 2 Coaching is conducted in line with School’s vision and policies relating to the CGS Sports Program PRIVATE AND CONFIDENTIAL Training Sessions and Match Day Award and Recognition Program Sessions are planned, well organised and progressive Develop skills, decision making, leadership and teamwork capabilities for all students Establish CGS values within the team Adhere to all relevant guidelines as issued by Sports Staff including APS Sport Code of Conduct Pre season planning and conduct of trials and practise matches Actively involve all students in training sessions Communicate effectively with students – regarding match arrangements and team selections Team selections – all students have opportunities during season Positive and appropriate interaction with other staff, students and parents Equipment returned and in good condition, including first aid kits Injury / incident reports submitted in a timely manner Represent school in professional manner, including dress and communication style Consistent positive role model for students Match reports submitted in a timely manner Submission of recommendations for awards under CGS criteria Attendance at Presentation nights as required for the First Team Feedback from students and parents is positive Sessions are well organized and run as scheduled Improvement in individual skills, match / competition performance, leadership and teamwork High levels of student enjoyment and satisfaction with individual and team participation All students are communicated with appropriately regarding their selection prior to team selections being published CGS values are evident in the team APS Sport Code of Conduct is followed Equipment is returned, maintained and stored appropriately Injury / incident reports are completed accurately and submitted as soon as practicable following the incident All recommendations are submitted in a timely manner This job description reflects the schools’ assignment of essential functions; and nothing in this herein restricts management’s right to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time.
