SELECTION CRITERIA
School Head
of Sport
Skills: The ability to effectively plan and implement a structured programme for
students of First Team level that develops the student’s individual skill level,
decision-making, teamwork and leadership capacity, as well as providing an
enjoyable sports experience for our students.
Staff Member
In Charge
Experience: Coaching experience at Secondary School level or in Community
Sport at the elite level, with experience coaching junior athletes desirable.
First Team
Coach
Qualifications: Essential - Employment Working With Children Check, Level 1
First Aid qualification, Anaphylaxis certification
Desirable – Valid NSAC coaching accreditation or equivalent
Personal Attributes: Self-motivated, well organized, mature, team-oriented,
reliable, personable and with an ability to relate to diverse stakeholders.

Sessions are planned, well organised and progressive
Develop skills, decision making, leadership and teamwork
capabilities for all students
Establish CGS values within the team
Adhere to all relevant guidelines as issued by Sports Staff
including APS Sport Code of Conduct
Pre season planning and conduct of trials and practise matches
Actively involve all students in training sessions
Communicate effectively with students – regarding match
arrangements and team selections
Team selections – all students have opportunities during
season
Positive and appropriate interaction with other staff, students
and parents
Equipment returned and in good condition, including first aid kits
Injury / incident reports submitted in a timely manner
Represent school in professional manner, including dress and
communication style
