Representative Assistant Coach Job Description Title: Assistant Coach - Under 15 squad Reports to: Netball Wellington Centre - Netball Development Manager Under 15 Head Coach / Development Coach Term of Position: 2011 representative season Purpose of Position: To support the Under 15 Head Coach and Development Coach in the coaching of Netball Wellington Centre’s under 15 squad. To assist in the delivery of the talent development programme for the under 15 age group. Key Tasks: 1. To be familiar with, and adhere to, all Netball Wellington Centre policies, including the specific representative programme policies. 2. To support the delivery of Netball Wellington Centre player development programme. 3. To assist with the warm-ups, skills and drills and cool downs of all players at trials. 4. To support the under 15 head coach and development coach at all coaching sessions. 5. To assist the coach of the under 15 team to which you are assigned at all representative fixtures during June. 6. To assist and support the coach and manager of the under 15 team to which you are appointed at the National Championships in the first week of the July holidays (fixtures will be confirmed by April 30 in any year). 7. To support the coach of the under 15 team to which you are appointed with the collation of statistics and other information that may be required for game analysis and results to be used for a report back to the Netball Wellington Board. 8. To keep a record of all games and results for the teams for whom you are responsible at tournaments to be used for a report back to the Netball Wellington Board. 9. Report back to the Netball Wellington Board through its Review Committee as part of the end-of-season review process held within one month of completion of the representative season. The report should include: 10. A summary of the tasks undertaken during the season; and Recommendations for Netball Wellington with regard to coaching requirements, particularly as they relate to the assistant coach’s role. Each Assistant Coach will be required to sign a contract with Netball Wellington Centre that sets out the responsibilities of the assistant coach. Fixtures: (to be confirmed by April 30 to distribute to players at first trial) Personal Specifications: A minimum of Netball New Zealand Level 1 Coaching Award preferred. A commitment to up skill with NNZ Coaching Modules during the 2011 Season if not currently completed. Experience in coaching at under 15 representative level or premier club or college level. Proven ability to communicate, improve the skills of and work with young players. Proven ability to work with other coaches.
