There are choices for graduating PhDs to select their career path and achieve their goals. This talk focuses on
your interest and options you may have selecting a path that is suitable for you in industry, academia or starting
a technology based companies on your ideas. It will also focus on the early steps involved in moving from the
University laboratory to the real world for innovating and commercializing the product from your science based
ideas. Your personal growth contributes to the society and to the welfare of the nation.
Dr. Cholli is the Founder and President of Polnox Corporation, Lowell, Massachusetts, USA.
The Polnox Corporation was a spin-off from University of Massachusetts Lowell based on
the pioneering work on macromolecular antioxidants by Dr. Cholli and his team while he
was there. Prior to starting Polnox, Dr. Cholli worked at University of Massachusetts,
Lowell, BOC Group, Murray Hill, NJ and Bell Laboratories, Murray Hill, NJ. He received his
Ph.D. in Polymer Science from Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, Ohio. Dr. Cholli
has published more than 130 peer reviewed publications. Dr. Cholli has been awarded with
34 patents to date. Several patents are pending. Dr. Cholli has been credited for two innovation technologies
developed at Polnox: DT-mPM antioxidants and McIn Corrosion inhibitors. Wall Street Journal’s Technology
Innovation Award was conferred for the development of DT-mPM antioxidant technology and was nominated for
the 2017 Challenge Award from World Materials Forum.
