Is it true that the best way for a society to prepare its young people for leadership in government, industry, or other fields is by instilling in them a sense of cooperation, not competition? As far as I am concerned, the statement bears a fraction of truth but it omits the importance of the spirit of competition. Admittedly, cooperation is the base of accomplishing onerous and hard tasks. For example, when it comes to finishing a team work assigned by teachers, young people should learn to cooperate with their classmates. When it comes to devising and promulgating a new policy concerning environment protection, cabinets and the president should cooperate with each other and work out difficulties concertedly. When it comes to solve a recondite and mysterious industrial problem, workers and programmers should work together finding the source of problem and fix it. Thus, we can safely draw a conclusion that young people should be prepared with a sense of cooperation. However, all have been discussed above is concerned with participationship not leadership. A young people who yield for leadership should pay high attention to their sense of competition instead of cooperation. First of all, as we all known, among thousands of soldiers, there is only one commander so those who cannot compete with their fellows and win against them will never come to the throne. For instance, American president is elected from two parties and politicians in this two parties contrive to convince the public how well they will lead American to a gogerous future. While these candidates do have to cooperate with their business cooperators, sponsors and propaganda teams, the basic essence that supports them throughout the election is the will of competing against and win over others. Without the spirit of competition, it will never comes up to young people to elect for president and the opportunity of becoming leader in any field will not achieve. Secondly, it is essential for a society to instill a sense of competition in its young people. A company cannot run well without the judgment and leader of its chief executor and a society will be in chaos without the leadership of its president. Thus, a society should be aware of the importance of preparing its youth for leadership in any fields by tutoring then sense of competition. For example, when children were in primary school, teachers should encourage students competing for the election of the class leader so that students will be aware of sense of competition and learn to present the best of them. In companies, the executors should elect a team leader or manager in each apartment in order to instigate employees and better performance of the company. Thus, there are many ways a society can choose to foster a spirit of competition in their young people and prepare them for leadership. In sum, a society should be aware of the importance of preparing its youth for leadership in any fields by fostering a sense of competition in them.
