Josh is in year 11 at Newhaven College and
is great at all sports. He enjoys being
involved with the players and watching
them develop. He is a great coach to all our
junior referees.

Winter Season- Starts 24 April
Open and Registration Day will be on Saturday 24th April at the
San Remo Recreation Centre from 9.30am until 11.30 am.
The Season will run throughout terms 2 and 3 for 12 weeks.
Age groups and costs are:
Aussie Hoops-U8’s- $55 (plus $35 for new players*)
Boys and Girls born 2003 and after.
Aussie Hoops- U10’s-$55(plus $35 for new players*)

Welcome and Thank-you.
Island and District Basketball Association with the help of
Basketball Victoria Country Council welcomes all players and
families to our new home, San Remo Recreation Centre.
Our aim is to provide an encouraging environment for all to learn
the game of basketball, and be involved in a true team sport.
Our coaches have many years experience around different clubs,
and hope to pass on as much knowledge to the players to ensure
full enjoyment of the game for all.
We thank you for your support and commitments made and hope
to continue the growth of our club to provide a friendly, social
place for players and their families.

Dean has been involved with basketball since his
daughter Emma began as a 5 year old at Dandenong
and is very involved on and off the court, to provide a
safe and encouraging environment for our players.

Coach and Supervisor Cowes-4 years
Amanda has been involved in basketball for 25 years and
loves to share her knowledge and passion for the game with all the
kids. Kids: none.

Andrew has been playing and coaching basketball for over 35 years
at a high level and loves to see players given the opportunity to shine
and be their best. Kids: Ellen
Lisa Sprunt
Exp: Played basketball at junior domestic level.
Lisa now enjoys being involved in the sport her
daughters love. She has been a help and still
contributes greatly to a lot of off court organising.

Ellen is 15 years old and attends Newhaven
College. She began basketball when she was 12 and has never looked
back. She has trained hard and is now playing at Dandenong Rangers.
She is enjoys sharing her sport with others.

Exp: 30 years playing State Rep and U12-18 VC
A Grade Panel Referee- 25 years

Coach to 5 School Comp Titles
Sandra just loves giving all players a fair go no
matter what the standard. She also feels that basketball provides
players with everlasting friendships and a great support base in life.

Tony Shannon
Exp: Played Junior and Senior at Dandenong,
Frankston and Cranbourne-20 years
Coached Junior levels at the same clubs.
Tony and his family, have a long history with
basketball. His father Ken Shannon, was the cofounder of Dandenong Basketball Association. His
brother Glen Shannon is the current Women’s Southern Penninsula
SEABL Coach. Kids: Kate and Holly

also helping Lisa with a lot of off court organizing.
