#GREATGIVE17
Great Give Palm Beach & Martin Counties is an unprecedented partnership between four
organizations that share a common vision -- to help build vibrant communities. They are
amplifying the impact on the communities in which we live, love, work and play.
If you are looking at how to help your local non-profit organizations then look no further than the
Great Give Palm Beach and Martin Counties. They are setting out to raise as much money as
possible for the local non-profit organizations on the day of May 17. This event is a 24-hour
online giving event led by United Way of Palm Beach County, Achieve, Nonprofits First and
United Way of Martin County. They have raised over $8 million for over 500 nonprofits in the
past three years. Their goal is to make this year even better than the last!
This is an attempt to inspire as many people as possible to give to their local non-profit
organizations. This event is completely open to the public, making anyone able to donate ($20
minimum) to one or more participating nonprofits. Great Give has provided wonderful events in
the past promoting and supporting our local nonprofits and enriching the community’s spirit of
giving. In 2016 Great Give raised over $3 million dollars and received over 10,000 gifts for 504
local nonprofits.
In order to spread the word about this amazing event, everyone can help by sharing it on their
social media pages using #GreatGive17 in order to start a trend for people to follow. The event
looks to raise millions of dollars for community good and better serve our residents who are in
need.
If you are an individual looking to donate to your local non profit organization, it is very simple.
There is a minimum of $20 that you can donate to one or more of whichever nonprofits you
desire. This gives you the opportunity to support causes in which you feel are important directly,
without actually having to become physically involved. Whatever the cause, you are going to
helping to remedy the problem at hand.
If you are an organization looking to receive donations, it is also not difficult at all. Any nonprofit
501(c)(3) organization that provides services in Palm Beach and/or Martin County and is IRS
and Patriot Act Compliant is eligible. Participating nonprofits must be: (1) a tax exempt 501(c)(3)
organization in good standing with the IRS; (2) provide direct services in Palm Beach and/or
Martin counties; and (3) be registered with the State of Florida to solicit funds (if applicable).
Visit Florida's Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services for more information about the
Solicitation of Contributions Act.
This is an exciting event that will have a huge impact on nonprofit organizations. Remember the
date of May 17 from midnight to midnight! Thank you to all of the donors and nonprofit
organizations that will be contributing and participating!
