What’s up in February?
February has been a busy month here at the Ridge. This
month we had our final parent teacher conference for the
year. Our counselors and other staff members did a great job
calling all students who are currently receiving F’s and
personally inviting their parents to our conference. Teachers were able to have effective meetings with
students and parents who really need support. Great Job Sand Ridge!!!
Sports: Girls basketball is underway and our girls were able to get their first win of the season. They are
doing very well considering the level of competition they are up against.
Counseling: The Counseling Department has been busy with individual 8th grade PCCR’s, Student of the
Month and presenting in our CTE classes. Below is a list of students who have been recognized as
February’s students of the month. Congratulations students!!

Our Peer leaders collected stuffed animals to
give to the Roy City Police & Fire Department.
When the Police and Fire department responds
to calls, often there are scared children. They
will give these stuffed animals to children to
comfort them. Our Peer leaders collected over
200 stuffed animals!
are the recipients for the Elk’s Teenager of the
Student Engagement: Making pillow cases was a success for College and Career Awareness.
Pull toys, Testbeds and Sophie and Grace taking the crown in the four-wheel drive all-terrain vehicles
competition.
Student Activities: The Valentine’s celebration was a hit at SRJH. One our generous students, Drake
Hamblin decided that every girl in the school should have a Valentine on the Friday before Valentine’s
weekend. Drake put together 460 packages of cookies and handed them out to students and staff
members during both lunches.
The SRJH 8th graders were recognized by our English department for their reading accomplishments. At
this point they have read 3844 books so far this year. The map below depicts the distance traveled if
they laid the books they read next to each other. Keep it going Scorpions!!!
Congratulations to the 8 th graders!
This year they have read 3,844 books.
If you laid all those books down in a line, it would equal one half
mile.
