In order to sit for the Telecommunicator state exam all students must complete the TCOLE Rules Overview for Telecommunicators and Jailers. Students may take the exam until they score 100%. Proof of completion and 100% accuracy must be provided to the academy before the Telecommunicator Licensing Exam is administered. This requirement applies only to Telecommunicators required to sit for the Licensing Exam. The exam can be found at the TCOLE Website at: www.tcole.texas.gov To take the exam click Login to MyTCOLE Account. This will require your TCOLE login, if you have not created a login you can do so from this screen: Once logged on go to My Training, then click on Go to TCOLE Learning. Once in MyTCOLE Learning, click the TCOLE Rules Overview (For Jailers and Telecommuniators). Next click the Rules Overview with the box beside it. Click the enter button at the bottom of the screen to enter the course material. The PowerPoint will have links to the actual rules. Students must go through these as there are questions over the rules that aren’t specifically discussed in the PowerPoint. Once the student is comfortable with the rules they can return to the rules overview screen and click the link for Rules Overview Final Exam for Telecommunicators and Jailers. Most students are finding it takes numerous attempts to score 100%. Once 100% is achieved print the screen showing the score and the student’s name. This paper must be shown to the test administrator before taking the Telecommunicator Licensing exam.
