Café Parent Pipeline:

Parent Pipeline sent last week, as we work through a 4 week
unit on Summarising.
Each week the students will have 10 weekly spelling words that they will
continue to practise during the week. The phoneme we will be investigating
this week is ‘ai’ (snail). The main graphemes include ai (straight), ay (day),
a_e (cake), a (waste), ey (they) and eigh (eight). The spelling program is
differentiated according to your child’s needs.

Reach Out For Respect:
In Week 7, students and teachers will continue to participate in the
wellbeing program ‘Reach Out for Respect’. We are focusing on stereotypes
and representations of gender in the community.
Following the analysis and discussion of wellbeing data, along with student
input related to ways of promoting social and emotional skills across the
year level, the Year 5 Team has decided to run small workshops.

From Week 7 – Week 10, students will engage in a research project related
to our unit of inquiry. They will be asked to self-select an area of interest
and further investigate aspects of this using a range of resources. The
students will also have the opportunity to present their findings in a format
of their choice.

list outcomes of chance experiments
gather data with or without the use of digital technology
compare, graph and interpret data sets
create probability tree diagrams to represent possible
outcomes
represent outcomes as a fraction, decimal or percentage.
Students will be given the opportunity to
sign up to a session of their choice, they
will integrate with other students and
teachers across the year level, and also
further develop their social
