SURF LIFE SAVING TASMANIA INC PREMIER CLUB AWARD For Implementation Season 2011-12 Section A LIFESAVING a) Criteria/Key Event Score State Patrol Competition (Inspections Assessments) Weighting Weighted Score 10 Criteria Measurement Method Take each clubs patrol assessment scores throughout the season (of which there should be 3) add together then divide by 3 to get the average assessment score. If 3 assessments are not complete in each season then add the 2 LOWEST scores for each Club and divide by 2 to get the average score. Clubs are ranked in order of the highest score with the following points allocated:Score: 1st = 10; 2nd = 9; 3rd = 8; 4th = 7.. etc; then multiplied by the b) Champion open Patrol Competition c) Overall result for the combined events in the State Life Saving Championships d] Pre-season Gear Inspection 6 66 10 NA 10 Max is 600 points Max is 66 points weighting = weighted score. Take the combined score for the club for this event x weighting Score: 1st = 6; 2nd = 5; 3rd = 4; 4th = 3; 5th = 2; 6th = 1 Take the combined score for the club for all events (1st Aid, Champion Lifesaver, Patrols Comps) at this event by allocating the following score to each event: Score: 1st = 6; 2nd = 5; 3rd = 4; 4th = 3; 5th = 2; 6th = 1 and adding together. There is no weighting for this Event, rather a straight score is given. Take the combined score for the club for this event x weighting Score: 1st = 6; 2nd = 5; 3rd = 4; 4th = 3; 5th = 2; 6th = 1 e) Attendance at State Life Saving and State Surf Sports Meetings by Club delegate. 5 Score 2 points for each attendance by a Club at State Life Saving Meetings x weighting. Where only 1 meeting is held a maximum of 2 points only can be allocated. (ie this is not dependant on the number of delegates from each club) SECTION B SURF SPORTS a) Criteria/Key Event b) Junior State Championships Handicap point score. * Masters – Handicap Place * c) Senior State Championships Handicap point score. * Score Weighting Weighted Criteria Measurement Score Method 5 Take the HANDICAP placed getting for each Club then allocate the following score: 1st = 6; 2nd = 5; 3rd = 4; 4th = 3; 5th = 2; 6th = 1 Then multiply by the weighting to get the weighted score 5 “ “ “ 5 “ “ d) Statewide Carnivals Handicap Point Score. * 5 To encourage participation at SW carnivals Take the HANDICAP place getting for each Club at each SW Carnival add together and divide by the number of SW carnivals in the season to give the average handicapped placing the allocate the following score:Score: 1st = 10; 2nd = 9; 3rd = 8; 4th = 7.. etc; then multiplied by the weighting = weighted score. e) Officials to Competitors Ratio 4 For the 5 SW carnivals + the 2 state championships clubs score 2 points for each occasion where they have the required official/age manager to competitors ratio (which is 1/10?) Handicap competition points are determined by the point score divided by the number of competitors at each event. Criteria/Key Event Score Weighting Weighted Criteria Measurement Score Method SECTION C ADMINISTRATION a) Attendance at State Council Meetings 5 b) Clubs having regular meetings with minutes forwarded to SLST 1 c) Patrol Logs are completed via surfguard &/or forwarded to SLST for input by the 2nd week of each month. 7 d) Membership forms are completed and loaded to surfguard and/or forwarded to SLST 2 2 points for each attendance by club presidents or their authorised club delegate at each state council meeting x weighting Score 2 Points for each month that club minutes are forwarded to SLST within 2 weeks of a meeting being held. Score 2 points for the months of December, January and March where this has occurred. This will be measured by the information available on surfguard by the 2nd week of each month in relation to patrol hours by members. Score 20 points where this has occurred, deducted 1 point for each instance where it is evidenced that this has not occurred SECTION D MEMBERSHIP & COMMUNITY MIX a) Criteria/Key Event Score Weighting Weighted Criteria Measurement Score Method Growth in senior active membership from previous Year 4 b) Growth in junior active membership from previous Year 4 c) Retention of membership 5 d) Club Awards gained during season 5 e] Community Awards gained during season. Score 1 point for each increase in senior active (financial) membership as recorded on surfguard as at 30th June each year (This will be basis of invoicing for fees etc) Score 1 point for each increase in junior active (financial) membership as recorded on surfguard as at 30th June each year Score 10 points where overall active membership has at least been retained from the previous season (as measured on surfguard) For all awards (not proficiencies) gained during the period 1st July – 30th Jun in the year preceding the awards of excellence dinner clubs receive 1 point. as above
