Hereward College are working as part of the Progress partnership project and the Accelerate
project. This post will be split 50:50 between the two projects, which are both funded by the Big
Lottery and the European Social Fund. Each project is aimed at supporting individuals in Coventry
and Warwickshire to overcome barriers to employment.
Main purpose and scope of post
To assist and support the Lead Job Coach with the administrative tasks relating to the Progress
Project and Accelerate Project as well as offer a high quality service to all visitors and clients within
the service.
Responsibilities and accountabilities – General
 Contribute to the development and maintenance of a positive culture that embeds the

Responsibilities and accountabilities – Detailed

Be the first point of contact for telephone, email and face-to-face enquirers, providing
appropriate information and completing documents and databases as necessary.

Provide administrative support that is efficient and effective to the work of the projects,
using IT systems to enable the appropriate storage, retrieval and reporting of information
and data.

Provide excellent customer service by through quality customer service, meeting their needs
and demonstrating the added value of the service provided.

Under the direction of the Lead Job Coach, liaise with Job Coaches, Progress Project and
Accelerate project partners, internal college staff and relevant external agencies to ensure
the effective administration of the Progress Project and Accelerate project at Hereward.

Support the Job Coach team’s efforts to engage clients and employers into the service,
including with maintaining an accurate database clients/employers or potential
clients/employers.

To contribute to the planning, running and administration of employability events ran by the
Job Coach team.

Attend regular team meetings and feedback on the progress of the administration of the
Project.

To be responsible for liaising with the Job Coach Team in ensuring all paperwork relating to
the Progress Project and Accelerate project is up to date and any reporting is conducted in a
timely and efficient manner.

Support the referral of individuals to additional sources of support within the Progress
Project and Accelerate project.
Team working

Communicate effectively with the wider Job Coach team, staff within the College and
partners within the Progress Project and Accelerate project.

To attend Job Coach team meetings as required and to contribute to the development of the
practices within the team.

Attend regular Progress Project and Accelerate project regional meetings and network with
members to ensure continuity and effectiveness of monitoring and reporting.
Develop own administrative practice

Be responsible for developing and maintaining skills and knowledge to competently perform
own role through research and training as identified during the appraisal process.

Challenge own and others’ assumptions about the employment choices that learners can
make.
