Mastercard Hopman Cup 2017
The Hopman Cup returns to Perth Arena this summer from 1 - 7 January, kicking of Australia's Summer of Tennis.
The Hopman Cup is the official mixed teams' competition of the ITF and in 2017 the event will welcome Roger
Federer - one of the greatest tennis players of all time! The seventeen-time Grand Slam champion will join some of
the world’s best as they battle it out for their country.

Fremantle Arts Centre New Year's Day Concert
Celebrate the start of the New Year at Fremantle Arts Centre's annual New Year's Day concert on Sunday 1 January
from 5 - 10pm featuring Lake Street Dive. The Brooklyn-based quartet is touring the country with their debut
album Side Pony, following a mesmerising performance at the 2015 Perth Festival. After their cover of The Jackson
5's I Want You Back went viral, the genre-defying group has drawn fans and acclaim across the globe. Complete
with front woman Rachel Price's husky alto, Motown grooves and '60s-era rock, kick off the new year in retro style.

Party with the Animals
Hey, party animals! Put your party shoes on and head to Perth Zoo from 6 - 29 January for a gigantic season of
summer fun. We're having a party for our animals and you're invited to share in the fun! Perth Zoo's favourite
heavyweight, Tricia the Asian Elephant, turns 60 but she's not celebrating alone, many of our other animals have
birthdays looming too. See if you can find out who by following our Birthday Trail. Keep cool like the penguins do
and slide on over to the Main Lawn and cool down with some wet 'n' wild fun on our water slide. If slipping and
sliding isn’t your thing bring your little monkeys to the Wild Zone for party games, crafts and water play. Don't
forget your bathers, a towel and sunscreen!

Lancelin Ocean Classic
The Lancelin Ocean Classic, Australia's longest running windsurfing event will be held from 12 - 15 January 2016,
128km north of Perth in beautiful Western Australia waters. The Lancelin Ocean Classic dates back to 1986 when a
handful of enthusiastic windsurfers met together for a downwind race from Ledge Point to Lancelin. Since this
moment on the Lancelin Ocean Classic was born, now one of the best know windsurfing and water sport races in
the world it attracts competitors from all round the globe.

Victoria Bitter One Day International- Australia v Pakistan
Australia is set to take on Pakistan in the heat of the summer at the Victoria Bitter One Day International on 19
January, 2017 at the WACA. Pakistan returns for their first ODI match in Perth since 2010 and fans can look
forward to seeing how Australia's top order fare against a Pakistan bowling line-up featuring some of the most
exciting and talented young bowlers in the world. The world class cricket action combined with all of the fun of a
ODI crowd make this a match fans won't want to miss.

FRINGE WORLD Festival 2017
FRINGE WORLD keeps the good summer vibes going in Perth for 31 days of Perthect entertainment from 20
January - 19 February. Perth's 2017 Fringe World Festival is bigger, brassier and bolder than ever. Fringe World is a
summer smorgasbord of entertainment and the 2017 program will be packed full of new and familiar treats.

Don't miss The City of Perth Australia Day Skyworks presented by the City of Perth, Lotterywest, Channel Seven
and Mix 94.5 on Thursday 26 January, 2017 from 3pm. Experience Australia’s largest community celebration of
Australia Day with free concerts, family entertainment and air and water shows take place from 3pm around the
Swan River, ending with a spectacular fireworks display at 8pm. See the program of activities and events below.
