The Mission of The Positive for Life Foundation is to
provide individuals and organizations the resources to motivate and inspire people
in the areas of self-esteem, positive thinking, goal-setting, and achievement
so they can realize and live their dreams everyday!
Dear Students and Parents,
The Positive for Life Foundation is sponsoring a four day - three night, once in a lifetime camp
experience. All seventh grade boys and girls that are interested in sports, nature, music, outdoor adventure,
and just plain fun are encouraged to apply for a full tuition scholarship. Thirty to forty scholarships will be
awarded based upon character, interest, application responses, and recommendations – Attendance to this
limited camp opportunity is only for those receiving the full tuition scholarship.
The Positive for Life Expedition is scheduled from Monday July 24th to Thursday July 27th. The camp
will be held at the New Jersey School of Conservation facilities located on 240 acres in Stokes State Forest in
Sussex County New Jersey. Facilities include indoor sleeping quarters, outdoor challenge courses, hiking trails,
a full service dining hall, and indoor learning centers.
At the camp the students will receive basic, safe, and ethical encouragement and instruction in various
activities. The campers will play softball, climb, hike, and participate in general outdoor camp games and
activities including evening campfires. The games and activities are structured in such a way as to let the
campers see how they can participate and achieve in areas they may not have otherwise considered
previously.
Of primary importance, The Positive for Life Expedition uses a student’s interests, whether they be in
sports, music, or other outdoor activities, to build character, achieve goals, overcome limits, thereby increasing
success in school or any other endeavor. The course is designed to provide motivation for kids regarding their
personal growth and development. Positive, motivating, and encouraging principles from the works of
coaches like John Wooden will be addressed as an important part of the program’s objectives.
