I Y~LLUW t'~V~K VA(;(;lNATIUN Below are the addresses and the procedure for yellow fever vaccination: The -following countries are regarded as yellow fever endemic: AFRICAN COUNTRIES: Angola, Benin: Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Chad, Congo, Democratic Republic of Congo (Zaire), Equatorial Guinea, Ethiopia, Gabon, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea Bissau, Ivory Coast (Cote D'lvoire), Kenya, Liberia, Mali, Niger, Nigeria, Rwanda, Sao Tome and Principe, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Somalia, Sudan (South of 15" N), Togo, Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia. SOUTH AMERICAN COUNTRIES: Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, French Guiana, Guyana, Peru, Suriname, Trinidad and Tobago, Venezuela, Panama. Foreign nationals residing or who have passed through the Yellow fever endemic countries during the preceding six days, are granted visas only after the production of vaccination certificate of Yellow Fever. After checking the vaccination certificate an entry read as "Valid Yellow fever Vaccination Certificate Checked" is made in the passport of the foreigner. A yellow fever vaccination certificate is valid only if it conforms with the model. The validity period of international certificate of vaccination or re-vaccination against yellow fever is 10 years, beginning 10 days after vaccination. Remember: Public Health Institutes are run by the respective state governments and the YeHow Fever Vaccination that you take from these institutes is highly subsidized. If you are going to buy the vaccination from a Medical Shop/Chemist Shop, it costs you five times more than what these Public HeaIth Institutes are offering. Note: (1) At Public Health Institute in Bengaluru, you need to register your name at least a day or two advance by phone. (2) Please carry your (i) Original passport (as the passport number is to be entered in the yellow card and register). (ii) One 2 ml Disposable Syringe (No. 24 gauze). (iii) Yellow fever booklet (if you have got from recognized travel agency if not, will be provided at PHI. (iv) Fees ofRs. 260-00 (Rupees Two Hundred and Sixty) only, for which a receipt will be issued. (v) Vaccination will be given only for a group of 10 people as it contains 10 doses or else it is not possible for them to open a vial for one or two persons.
