British Polo 10 Goal Championships 2015
1.
Entries are invited for a new 10 goal tournament, the final of which will be played on 25 July for the Diamond
Jubilee Trophy as the morning match on International Day at Guards Polo Club. The aim of the tournament is
to provide an opportunity for our existing and up and coming British players.

The handicap limits for the team is 8-10 goals with a minimum handicap of 0 for any player. All sponsored
players must have a current UK passport and be a current member of the HPA. On Saturday 25th July, the day
of the final, all players must be at least 18 years old.

Teams may not involve or include any sponsorship/branding on any team equipment or clothing without
clearance from the HPA.

An entry fee of £5,000 must accompany entries which close at 5pm on 10 June. Entries will not be accepted
unless complete with all 4 playing members of the team. No team can enter a player who has been entered in
another team. Team Patrons will be invited to the Coronation Cup Dinner at Guards on Thursday 23 July, after
the semis, and will be given 8 complimentary seats in the South Stand.

The HPA will decide the final formula for league and/or group matches after all entries have been received. If
the number of entries has to be limited, it will be a case last in, first out. The league/group matches and/or
subsequent knockout games are provisionally scheduled to run from 18 June to the 18 July inclusive, with the
semi-finals to be played on 23 July and the final on the 25 July.
a. Teams may request up to 3 "no-play-dates" but these cannot be guaranteed.
b. The draw will be sent out by the 12th June. It is the responsibility of the team captain to inform his team of
the schedule once published.
c. Once the draw is made, matches will only be rescheduled in the event of exceptional circumstances such
as weather.
d. It is planned that each team will play a minimum of 2 matches before any knock out phase. There is no
subsidiary tournament.
e. Teams may agree to play a match on a private ground but the HPA reserves the right to select a suitable
venue for every match.
6.
Matches will be played open over 4 chukkas and in accordance with HPA rules.
a. All matches will be played to win.
b. In the event of a draw at the end of the fourth chukka a fifth will be played to sudden death and a sixth
likewise, but with widened goals.
c. Team Captains are reminded that they are required to inform the HPA of any changes to their declared
team before the match.
d. Any horse that has played for one team cannot then play for another team.
7.
Teams are required to provide one umpire pony per match as laid down in the 2015 HPA Blue Book. All
umpire charges will be made separately by the HPA to the team patrons.
