NASHVILLE
1. The Hotel Preston has offered us a GREAT rate of $119 per night for reservations made
through Memorial Day and $139 thereafter until July 26. You will need to reference the
GIRS to get this rate. If you plan to stay overnight in the Nashville area please support
your society and consider staying here and please book early to get the special rate. For
those of you not familiar with Nashville, the city is booming and there are always things
to do. Hotels can fill up quickly and can get expensive. Other hotels in the airport area
are already charging more for these dates. Their phone number is 615-361-5900. The
web address is www.hotelpreston.com. Be certain to mention the GIRS to get this rate.
Reservations can be cancelled under standard hotel policy (be sure to ask for details.)
2. The hotel itself has 195 rooms which are elegant and very spacious (perfect for families.)
It offers complimentary airport shuttle service and also shuttle service in the five mile
area around the hotel which includes the Grand Ole Opry and the huge Opryland mall. It
features live music in the lounge every evening and summer barbecues by the pool. This
is truly our opportunity to “take over the hotel” and talk relics all night. However, for
those of you so inclined…
3. Nashville is both “Athens of the South” and the “Country Music Capital.” Great web sites
to check out are www. visitmusiccity.com and www.nashville.com. The Country Music
Hall of Fame and Music Row are close by. For evenings world renown Lower Broadway
and Printers Alley are also close. The Tennessee State Museum has an excellent
prehistoric section.
THE SHOW
1. Show hours are 8AM to 4PM on Saturday August 27 and 8AM to 3PM on Sunday August
28. Set up is on Friday from 2PM to 8PM. From 8 PM on Friday to 6 AM on Saturday and
from 6PM on Saturday to 6AM on Sunday the room will be LOCKED with local police
security present so please plan accordingly!
2. Admission is free to society members and their families. $5 per day for all others.
3. The hotel will have a snack area right outside the exhibit space offering coffee, soft
drinks and light food. The hotel restaurant is just a few feet away as well.
EXHIBITOR INFORMATION
1. You must be a member of the GIRS to set up at the show. As space is limited to 120
tables, there will be a limit of two tables per exhibitor. Table cost is $65 per table for sales

or mixed sales and exhibit sales and $50 for exhibit only tables. This is for the entire
event! We ask you to be honest in your determination of which category your tables fall
into.
Our commitment to the GIRS is that tables will be allocated on a fair and equitable basis
to accommodate as many GIRS members as possible.
Because of the limited space requests for specific table locations or to “swap” tables can
not be honored. However, please let us know if your space will primarily be used for
books, frames or other heavy objects as we will try to locate you to facilitate loading.
Sales and displays are limited to legally obtained prehistoric Native, North American relics
and related items such as books and frames. No reproductions or questionable artifacts
will be displayed or sold at the show. No contemporary Native American material is
allowed. Materials must be pre-1900. The decisions of the organizers and the GIRS on
these matters are final and absolute, Exhibitors not removing items when they are asked
will be required to leave the show and will not be refunded their table rental.
We will let you know if we can accommodate your table request as soon as we can. Table
rental MUST be paid by August 1, 2016. No exceptions! Tables not paid by this date will
be reassigned. The organizers would appreciate your making payment by check at the
time you reserve your tables. Checks WILL NOT be deposited until August 2, 2016. (And
yes it is fine if you date your check August 1, 2016). If we are not able to accommodate
your request for tables we will return your check. We cannot accommodate credit cards
or paypal.
