IN EXERCISE of the powers conferred by section 29 of the Kenya Institute of
Curriculum Development Act, 2013, the Council makes the following RegulationsTHE KENYA INSTITUTE OF CURRICULUM DEVELOPMENT (CONSULTANCY
SERVICES) REGULATIONS, 2013
Citation
1. These Regulations may be cited as the Kenya Institute of Curriculum
Development (Consultancy Services) Regulations, 2013.
Interpretation
2. In these Regulations unless the context otherwise requires"Act" means the Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development Act 2013;
"Consultancy" means a specialized service offered to the Institute or by the
Institute to an individual, firm, or company or organization;
"Institute" means the Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development established
under section 3 of the Act.
Object.
3. These Regulations shall guide consultancy services by and for the Institute.
Consultancy services
4. (1) The Institute may request a person, individual, firm or an organization to
offer a specialized service to the Institute.
(2) The Institute may offer consultancy services to any person including an
individual, firm, organization, government in or outside Kenya.
Guidelines on
consultancy services
5. The Institute may appoint a consultant through a competitive process to carry out
such consultancy services on its behalf as may be prescribed by guidelines for
engagement in consultancy services.
Terms of reference in
consultancy services
5. (1) The Institute shall develop terms of reference with clients on consultancy
services.
(2) The Institute shall enter into an agreement for consultancy services through
an agreement or contract before the commencement of a consultancy service.

Existing standards and
requirements
6. The Institute shall adhere to existing consultancy regulatory and obligatory
standards and requirements.
Right to accept or
7. The Institute may accept or reject engagement in consultancy services.
