BADMINTONscotland is offering badminton players at Scotland’s Universities and Colleges the
opportunity to play some competitive games. The BADMINTONscotland University & Colleges
Badminton Tournament, staged with support from the University of Stirling, is being held at the
University of Stirling Sports Centre, on Sunday 3 November 2013.
conditions
1. A player shall be qualified to enter the BADMINTONscotland University & College Tournament providing
they are currently a student at a Scottish University or College.
2. Players who have played for Scotland or their National Team at any age group during the last 5 years are
not eligible to play.
3. Both players in a doubles event must submit an entry form (photocopies will be accepted). Players entering
“partner wanted” will be paired if a partner is available.
4. Players can enter doubles events with partners from any Scottish University or College
5. The Referee reserves the right not to hold an event if insufficient entries are received or to limit numbers.
The date entries are received will be taken into account.
6. Each event will initially be run in groups followed by a knock-out stage.
7. All matches will be played in accordance with the BWF Laws of Badminton. Details of these Laws can be
found on the BADMINTONscotland website www.badmintonscotland.org.uk, and the BWF website
www.bwfbadminton.org.
8. The tournament is open to all players of all standards who are currently students at Scottish Universities and
Colleges excluding those not eligible in condition 2 above.
9. Players should be prepared to report to the organiser’s table on arrival at the hall and be ready to start play
by 09.00 hrs on Sunday 3 November 2013 (this time is provisional depending on entries).
10. A confirmation email will be sent to all competitors 2-3 days prior to the event confirming receipt of entry and
start times. Please provide us with your email address to enable us to do this.
11. Entry fee per player per event : £7.00 for 1 event, £14.00 for 2 events. As Stirling University is hosting the
tournament, students of Stirling University will receive a discounted entry fee of £5.00 for 1 event, £10.00 for
2 events
12. Closing date for receipt of entries Friday 18 October 2013.
As it may be necessary to restrict the numbers of entries, please note entries will be accepted on a first
come first served basis and when the quota is received in each event further entries will not be accepted.

14. Late entries may not be accepted. A financial penalty is imposed by BADMINTONscotland of £5 per event
for late entries to these Championships.
15. The Committee reserves the right to add to or to alter these conditions. Its decision in all matters will be
final.
