Welcome to Four Seasons Child Care and Preschool
Infants and Toddlers
Thank you for considering Four Seasons for your child care!
Please read through our welcome packet, prepared especially for
parents of infants and toddlers. Here at Four Seasons we will
nurture your child as we care for them. We encourage children
through every developmental stage as they grow.
In the Infant Room, we do not have a set routine; we follow your
child’s individual schedule for eating and sleeping. Throughout the
day, in the Infant Room we have fun! We play together, sing, read
stories, listen to fun music, teach basic sign language, make
simple handprint crafts and enjoy buggy walks, when weather
permits. We offer a wide variety of small and large toys and baby
equipment to encourage your child’s fine and gross motor skills.
In the Toddler Room we do follow a flexible schedule; we have
included a copy, it gives you an example of a typical day in the
Toddler Room. Toddlers learn through play! When not involved in
care-giving routines toddlers should play! We offer three
structured free playtimes throughout the day. This playtime is
not limited by teacher-imposed rules. The teacher’s role is to
facilitate, play with, expand vocabulary, monitor confrontation
between children and provide a secure environment which they
can explore through play.
During both routine and playtime we encourage the Toddlers to
use self-help skills. This helps them feel competent and powerful“I DID IT!” Toddlers should be toddlers-this is the time to try
out all of their new independence skills in a supportive
environment in a non-rushed manner.
Along with our care-giving routines, here are some other areas we
focus on:
