Recruitment Committee
Statement of Purpose:
This document highlights both chapter goals and the goals of individual committee members for the
recruitment process for the school year 2015 – 2016.
Roles in Recruitment:




Vice President of Recruitment
o Engage in discussions and educational programs with individual brothers about effective
rush strategies and events;
o Plan and organize all rush events (Fall and Spring) with help of the rush committee;
o Manage a prospective/rushee database throughout the year;
o Attend RLA;
o Send Reminders about Rush Events both to brothers and rushees;
o Organize the brotherhood for informal recruitment;
o Complete the Membership Recruitment section of the CEP;
o Attend Executive Board meetings.
Assistant Recruitment Chair
o Aid the Recruitment Chairman as the Recruitment Chairman sees fit and necessary.
Recruitment Committee
o Consists of the President, Vice President Finance, and both Social Chairs;
o Assists Vice President of Recruitment and Assistant Recruitment Chairs in organizing
and hosting events;
o Helps decide optimal allocation of recruitment budget;
o Participates in regular recruitment committee meetings.
Other Chapter Members
o Abide by Virginia Chapter Delta Upsilon protocol for recruitment;
o Actively engage potential members throughout the year about the benefits of being a
member of Delta Upsilon;
o Attend any workshops or seminars to improve personal recruitment techniques;
o Provide any manual labor required to ensure recruitment events run smoothly;
o Attend all recruitment events unless given permission by VP Recruitment to miss.
Goals in Recruitment:




Vice President of Recruitment
o Maintain an average yearly recruitment above the IFC fraternity average;
o Retain 95% or more of members that accept bids;
o Break the top 10 in recruitment numbers for Delta Upsilon;
o Associate member class should have GPA average above that of IFC fraternity average;
o Hold non-alcoholic successful recruiting events;
o Create and maintain successful recruiting group that successfully plans and organizes all
events.
Assistant Recruitment Chair
o Gather a names list of 100 names each prior to spring recruitment;
o Work with VP Recruitment on planning of at least four small informal recruiting events.
Recruitment Committee
o Meet to discuss recruitment twice every month.
Other Chapter Members

Help out in various ways, and have 100% involvement during important events. (unless
excused absence);
100% involvements include
 Open house nights each semester
 Bid meetings
 Initiations
Assists Vice President of Recruitment and Assistant Recruitment Chairs in organizing
and hosting events.
