Round one 2009 of both OLT and the “newcomer” TSC was held in Neiden, Germany May 2.
The track, “am Österreicher” is located in a former armoured regiment area northeast of Leipzig.
The track is on hard ground with several jumps, the paddock area is on hard made ground
(concrete) and most of the area is under roof (!) in the old tank garage.
The race day showed its best face with a clear sky and sunny weather. The track was well prepared
and stayed in good conditions through out the race. The dust preparation/watering were made to a
level where the riders explained that they were satisfied and asked the organizer for no more
watering! The TSC riders were very happy with the track right from the beginning, but the OLT
riders needed the two training sessions to learn “what came after the next bend”.
Compliments to the Clerk of the course, Friedhelm Gatzert, and his staff for a well organized race!
OLT
Close on 30 riders from six European nations offered exciting entertainment! The most excitement
was offered by the Finnish rider Heikki Nurminen in the 60+ class; he participated in OLT for the
first time. He was fighting way up front until he lost a foot peg in the third leg. It will be interesting
to see Heikki in the coming OLT rounds! Other riders well worth to mention are Thomas Kühl DK
in the -50 class, Göran Josefsson SE, Tommy Karlsson SE, Mogens Jensen DK in the 50+ class
and the 60+ riders Jan Keiser NL, Wolfgang Büttner DE and the winner of the OLT 50+ class last
year, and newcomer in the 60+ class this year, Sölve Lindersson SE.

TSC is founded this year, so the round in Neiden was the first TSC race ever. 35 riders had applied
to the race. After clarifying some confusing about the regulations for some of the motor
bikes/riders the race could start. It is obvious that the ambition was on a high level in this class –
even including a false start with some riders “jumping” over the starting gate in the second leg!
The German rider Tino Eiβner on his Maico was outstanding, leaving the rest of the “crowd”
behind. Instead the interesting fights were to see on the following places between Andreas Beltin
SE, Peter Östergren SE, Mario Mühlig DE and Mikael Andersson SE!
Special complements to the technical inspectors Dan Axelsson and Roger Andersson for their high
level of technical knowledge of Twin Shock motor bikes and many thanks for their strict assistance
to the jury in artful questions!
