1. To learn that materials can have a variety of properties and this can determine how they are used. To be able to name materials after exploring them and make observations about their uses and
properties with minimal prompting.
2. To learn that there are different materials and that they have specific names. To know that they feel different and may be able to describe them in terms of one property. To match materials in terms of
one property e.g. scouring pad and sandpaper are both scratchy.
3. To experience a selection of materials and explore and interact with them in some way. To use their available senses to experience different properties and key words. Taken from PLP
