Dear Parents/Carers,
Play in the Park: Treasure Island Williamson’s Park, Wednesday 12th July
The English Department have been offered some discounted children’s tickets for the above
event. This offer will entitle you to the discounted ticket price of £9.50 per child and the
discount also applies to children who attend with a family group of a Year 7 Ripley pupil,
even though they may not attend Ripley. Adults will be charged the normal price of £20.
Some members of the English Department and their families will be going to the play, and as
a department we will be meeting at around 6:00pm for a picnic tea on the grass near the
children’s play park. Our Year 7 pupils together with members of their family and friends are
welcome to join us, but would of course need to bring along their own picnic!
The Dukes have a long tradition of performing a classic tale at the park during the summer
months, last year winning the UK Theatre Award for Best Show for Children and Young
People. Should you wish to book tickets for the play, you will need to contact the Dukes
Theatre direct on 01524 598500 quoting ‘RIPLEY OFFER’.
Also, please note that because this is an outdoor performance, the Dukes recommend
suitable clothing for moving around different locations in the park.
This is not a formal supervised trip as staff will be with their own children and families.
Parents/Carers of pupils will need to make their own arrangements for the safety and
supervision of their children.
