NOTICE OF ENACTMENT OF ORDINANCE
Notice is hereby given that the City Commission of the City of Pembroke Pines,
Florida, will consider Proposed Ordinance 2016-12 on second and final reading at
6:30 PM on Wednesday, June 21, 2017 in the City Commission Chambers,
Pembroke Pines City Hall/City Center, 601 City Center Way, Pembroke Pines, Florida
33026.
PROPOSED ORDINANCE NO. 2016-12 IS AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF
PEMBROKE PINES, FLORIDA ADOPTING THE PROPOSED LAND USE PLAN
AMENDMENT AMENDING THE CITY’S LAND USE ON AN APPROXIMATE 558.2ACRE PROPERTY GENERALLY LOCATED BETWEEN PINES BOULEVARD AND
PEMBROKE ROAD, EAST OF SW 172ND AVENUE, AS MORE PARTICULARLY
DESCRIBED IN EXHIBIT “A;” AMENDING THE CITY’S LOCAL LAND USE PLAN
MAP FROM IRREGULAR RESIDENTIAL 2.16 DWELLING UNITS PER ACRE TO
IRREGULAR RESIDENTIAL 2.24 DWELLING UNITS PER ACRE WITH 4.2 ACRES
OF COMMERCIAL FOR THE PURPOSE OF DEVELOPING AN ADDITIONAL ONE
HUNDRED AND TWENTY FIVE (125) RESIDENTIAL DWELLING UNITS AND
40,000 SQ. FT. OF COMMERCIAL USE ON APPROXIMATE 30 ACRES KNOWN
AS THE UNITED STATES POSTAL SERVICE PROPERTY; PROVIDING FOR
TRANSMITTAL; DIRECTING THE CITY CLERK TO PROVIDE CERTIFIED COPIES
OF THIS ORDINANCE AND PROPOSED LAND USE PLAN AMENDMENT TO THE
APPROPRIATE PARTIES; REQUESTING BROWARD COUNTY TO AMEND ITS
LAND USE PLAN AND TO AUTHORIZE THE BROWARD COUNTY PLANNING
COUNCIL TO TRANSMIT THE AMENDMENT TO THE STATE OF FLORIDA
DEPARTMENT OF ECONOMIC OPPORTUNITY ON BEHALF OF THE CITY AND
ANY OTHER INTERESTED GOVERNMENTAL ENTITIES; PROVIDING FOR
CONFLICTS; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE
