Moonrise Hotel Hosts 2nd Annual Green Ball to Benefit Missouri Botanical Garden’s EarthWays Center SAINT LOUIS, MO (February 28, 2011) - On Saturday, April 2, the giant moon revolving high atop the Moonrise Hotel in the Loop will sport a green hue. The occasion? The first annual Green Ball – a celebration of all things green in St. Louis. The event commemorates the 41st Anniversary of Earth Day and the second anniversary of the Moonrise Hotel that opened in April 2009. The Moonrise Hotel created by loop guru Joe Edwards, and located at 6177 Delmar, is St. Louis’ first and only luxury boutique hotel. “Where better to celebrate the Earth than under the moon?” said hotel owner, Joe Edwards. “We’re excited to show people that it is possible to throw a great party that is eco-friendly.” --MORE-- Green Ball page 2 of 2 The party will be earth friendly with all electric use offset with renewable energy credits donated by AmerenUE’s Pure Power program and additional power provided by solar panels.
