Stone Barns Center
Stone Barns Center for Food and
Agriculture is a not-for-profit farm
and education center that offers a
unique experience: the opportunity
to learn about agriculture firsthand
on a working farm and build
connections to the food we eat.
Field Trip Experience
Our field trips are conducted in a
living classroom – our working farm.
The farm can be used to teach concepts
ranging from life cycles to biodiversity
to seed breeding, and our educators
offer developmentally appropriate
and engaging farm experiences that
enrich classroom learning.
Field Trip Nuts and Bolts
Field trips are offered on weekday
mornings and are conducted rain or
shine. Our site can accommodate up
to 50 students per trip date. Field trip
length ranges from 1 hour to 3 hours
depending on program type and
student grade. Our site does not have
accommodations for indoor lunch.
We do have a small picnic area that
can be used if the weather permits.
