TOKYO GAME SHOW: CALL FOR PARTICIPATION IN HOLLAND PAVILION AND ROADSHOW IN JAPAN (SEPT. 11-18) The Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Tokyo and RANGEMU, a nonprofit organization connecting the Dutch and Japanese game industries, are calling for innovative, growing Dutch game companies, knowledge institutes and governmental organizations who are interested in exploring business opportunities in Japan. The program includes participation in the Holland Pavilion at the Tokyo Game Show 2016 (TGS2016), the largest game show in Asia, and a reception in Tokyo. Depending on a grant request from the Dutch Creative Industry fund, the program will also include a matchmaking roadshow to meet Japanese game companies and knowledge institutes, as well as a few other tobedetermined cultural and business side events during the week. Application deadline: May 20, 2016. This year marks the first time Dutch developers can expect to not only exhibit at the Holland Pavilion during the Tokyo Game Show, but also participate in an additional program which RANGEMU is currently proposing to the Dutch Creative Industry Fund, with support from the Dutch Games Association. The purpose of combining the two elements is to increase opportunities for Dutch developers to exchange knowledge and do business directly with the Japanese games industry. The theme for TGS2016 is “Press Start to Play the Future”. This theme conveys the idea that video games are changing the entertainment industry by breaking down various barriers including national and generational divides through diverse play styles and new technologies. There are 2 ways to participate: The Holland pavilion will consist of 12 demonstration booths (1mX1.5m), 4 business meeting areas, and 2 presentation corners. Participants can choose between the following packages: a) A BASIC package which includes: ▪ ▪ ▪ ▪ ▪ ▪ Entrance to the Tokyo Game Show (1518 September) including being mentioned in participation lists. Usage of the meeting areas & presentation corners at the Holland pavilion. Inclusion in RANGEMU’s Dutch Game Design magazine ( Grant dependant ). Participation in the matchmaking roadshow which will be organized before TGS by RANGEMU, the Netherlands embassy in Tokyo and its partners ( Grant dependant ).
