GUIDELINES FOR
Job Skills Grant 2013!
Vocational, Educational & Training Assistance Fund.
A “Job Skills Grant”, which will be rolled twice in 2013.
Round 1 – Closing date 28th March 2013
PURPOSE Jobskills grants are intended to provide financial assistance to those who are
experiencing unemployment and under employment at this time and who need to retrain or up
skill. Our Grant scheme aims to award one off grants of up to a maximum of €1,000.00.
These grants are intended to assist individuals to obtain a certified or FETAC accredited vocational
skill from a recognised training provider within the island of Ireland
COMPLETING YOUR APPLICATION FORM:
SECTION A

Applicant’s Personal Details
Note A1 – Guidelines Criteria – You must include a copy of Photo ID, i.e. Driving
Licence, Passport.
 Note A2- Guidelines Criteria – You must include a letter of offer from the college or
training institution stating the course you are enrolled for, the cost of the
course/training etc.,


Note A3 – Guidelines Criteria – Applicants are categorised into the following student types
for the purpose of this application. It is important that you establish which category of
applicant you are as this will determine whose income we take into consideration.
Note A4 - Guidelines Criteria – Occupation please describe the main job you have or had in
the past. This information is required so that assess your suitability and past skills to the
course you are now pursuing.
SECTION B

APPLICANT’S NATIONALITY AND RESIDENCY DETAILS
Note B1 - Guidelines Criteria – You are required to provide evidence that you have lived in
North County Tipperary for the past two years. Proof such as utility bill, credit union/bank
statement, Dept of Social Protection letter to be included with your application.
SECTION C
APPLICANT’S EDUCATIONAL AND EMPLOYMENT HISTORY
 Note C1 Guidelines Criteria – You are obliged to inform NTLP if you have applied for or been
awarded or will receive a Back to Education Allowance (BTEA) or Vocational Training
Opportunities (VTOS) payment for 2012/2013 academic year.

Note C2 Guidelines Criteria – You are obliged to inform NTLP if you have applied for, been
offered or will receive any other financial assistance from any other sources for your training
course for the academic year 2013/14.
SECTION D - PERSONAL DETAILS OF YOUR PARENT (S) LEGAL GUARDIAN,
SPOUSE OR COHABITANT.
If you are completing this application as a mature student dependent of parent(s) or legal
guardian(s), your Parent(s )must fill in this section of the application and sign the appropriate
declaration on Page 5
Evidence of parents income required i.e. P60 for 2011 or Welfare
Receipts and your income i.e. Welfare Receipts.
If you are completing this application as an independent mature student and are married or
cohabiting, your spouse or partner or cohabitant must fill in this section of the application form and
sign the appropriate declaration form.
Evidence of your spouse/partner/cohabitant’s income is required i.e. P60 for 2011 or Welfare
Receipts.
NOTE: If this section does not apply to you, please enter N/A clearly across the top of the section.
SECTION E
DETAILS OF DEPENDANT CHILDREN
If you are completing this application as a student dependent on parent(s) or legal
guardian(s) Parent or legal guardian must complete this section, giving details of their
other dependent children and if you have dependent children you must also fill in this
section giving us details of your own dependent children,. The dependent children listed
must be residing with your parent(s) or legal guardians or with you, the dependent student.
If you are completing this application as a student dependent on parent(s) or legal guardian(s)
Parent or legal guardian must complete this section, giving details of their other dependent children
and if you have dependent children you must also fill in this section giving us details of your own
dependent children. The dependent children listed must be residing with your parent(s) or legal
guardians or with you, the dependent student.
If you are completing this application as a mature student dependent of parent(s) or legal
guardian(s), your parent or guardian must complete this section, giving details of their other
dependent children and if you have dependent children you must also fill in this section giving us
details of your own dependent children. The dependent children listed must be residing with your
parent(s) or legal guardians or with you, the dependent student.
If you are completing this application as an independent mature student and have dependent
children you must fill in this section giving us details of your own dependent children and the
dependent children of your spouse/partner if applicable. The dependent children listed must be
