Number Sense Math Games
Game: Ruler Race
 Roll the die
 Add the amount shown on the die with interlocking cubes to your
side of the ruler.
 The winner is the first side to reach the end of the ruler.
 The one who doesn’t win gets to go first on the next turn.
Game: Fill the Chutes
 Play in partners
 Take turns rolling the die
 On each turn, mark as many squares on the “chute” as the
number rolled on the die.
 In order to colour the star at the top of a chute, you must
fill your chute with the exact number. If you do not get the
right amount on a roll to fill your chute, you can use the roll
to start another chute. As you near the end of all the
chutes being full and waiting for the right amount to be
rolled, you miss your turn until you get the right amount to
fill a chute!
