PFHS Girls Lacrosse Senior Night 2011

PFHS Girls Lacrosse Senior Night 2011
Kelsey Bellmer - #23
Through my years of playing lacrosse at Potomac Falls, this year has by far been the best. The way our team has
come together and grown as one, really has made my senior year special. I remember my freshman year trying
out for lacrosse was really intimidating, I didn’t know anyone and I was definatly nervous, but Coach Murray and
all the girls were so welcoming and made me want to advance my skills and to do lacrosse even more the next
year. As the years passed it seems as everyone has gotten closer and closer, and I’m so glad I got to be apart of
Potomac Falls lax, and I will never forget the friends I have made. Yeah lacrosse! I will be attending VCU in the
fall.

The Lacrosse Seasons over the last three years have been amazing, from the down right freezing Pre-season
conditionings to the intense kickball practices! All of the girls on the team have made each season special. As
hard as we work during our practices and games, having fun is never left out of the picture. I couldn't thank
Coach Murray enough for taking the time to coach our team and putting forth the effort to help make us better. I
will always love my Pamily and will truly miss everyone! Remember ladies, SHAKE and BAKE! I will be
attending George Mason University.

Even though I have played for PFHS only one year it has been awesome. Everybody on the team has been very
welcoming and I am glad to have been able to call myself a lax panther. College: UVA , Major: International
Relations and Slavic Studies

Looking back at freshman year makes me laugh. I remember the first days/weeks when catching a ball and
passing were seemed almost impossible, but my pamily kept me going and helped me to improve, whether it was
by passing with water balloons or by playing kickball in mud. I don’t even remember when I got my name
changed to “Naavv”. Wins or loses did not mattered, because after every game we all were still family and found
something positive to keep each other going. I'm going to NOVA next year.

Well, the Chik Fil A date after practice from earlier this season would have to be one of my favorite Panther
lacrosse memories. Maureen Rice’s over excitement about garlic bread at pasta parties last year will always hit
pretty high on the list as well. Any team bonding activity, everything from the car wash sophomore year to the
smaller, simpler things, like cheering jv on from the stands as a team, is how I’ll remember this “Pamily”. I’ve
been on many different teams, but never one that sends out mass texts, whether they’re Imani’s pump ups
sophomore year or Devon Ortt’s random, awkward pictures this year. But, I will never forget conditioning
freshman year with Jenn Schonborn and Maureen Rice when my, still now, nickname “Havs” was created. Next
year, I will either be going to Louisiana State University or Ohio University to study audiology.

The last four years have been absolutely amazing! This year has probably been one of the best years by far. I
love how close our team is. We are friends on the field and even off the field. There is so much I will miss
about this year. Our bonding at Chik fil a, our 5k run as a team, our kickball games during practice. I will miss it
all! It has also been great having my dad as my coach. I will miss you dad! I love everyone on the team and I
will miss them all so much. I will be attending James Madison University in the fall.
Brenna Ortt - #16
This amazing team has welcomed me in with open arms, and even though this is my first year playing,
throughout the entire season I felt welcome and accepted amidst such talented players. I learned how much fun
being a part of Potomac falls lacrosse really is, and I'll never forget how wonderful and supportive everyone on
this team is. I'm going to JMU this upcoming fall :)

Oh my gosh lax (pronounced "lacks")... one of the main things I will miss about high school is lacrosse.
Whether it is standing on the sidewalk talking, on the field talking, or on the bus talking, I will miss it. I never
played much lacrosse before here, but I absolutely loved the experience. I learned a lot over these years with
"M Dog" (coach Murray) telling me to pay attention and stop playing in the dirt and stay on my feet. But
whatever happened, everyone was so supportive and that's what meant the most to me. I can't believe the
season is nearly over...guess I'll have to drop out of college and just come back next season... Yeah lacrosse!
Attending JMU in the fall to study music education and become an elementary school music teacher.

I have had many memorable lacrosse experiences, but some of my fondest are from this year as a senior. I
remember so many of these games from this year because of all of our almost comebacks. A lot of games this
year have been difficult, especially when we are down by 6. However, as a team we pull together and almost
win these games. I also loved running the 5 k as a team. That is an experience that I will never forget. I am so
grateful that I was able to be apart of the Panthers lacrosse team for four wonderful years. I am going to attend
James Madison University in the fall of 2011.

The best memories for me about lacrosse are how close we are together as a team, and the little things we have
done together as a team like the 5k run! Another thing was the pasta parties! They were all so fun and something
funny always seems to happen during the pasta parties! Radford!

Out of all of the teams I have participated on, Potomac Falls Girl's Lacrosse stands out to me as a team where
communication and friendships was never an issue. As Coach Dacanay would say in my first couple years, we
"would win with humility, lose with dignity, and go out there and kick their butts!" I am glad to have been a part
of such a great program, and I hope the lacrosse program continues to grow in the years to come. Thanks for a
great run ladies! : University of South Carolina.
