TEAM CHALLENGE GAMES RULES BOCCE - 3 ends to be played • Players have one ball each. Toss a coin to see who gets to go first on the first end - the winning team starts first on the next end. • The jack is tossed to the opposite end and should land in the second zone. • The first player from team one tosses the ball underarm (out the back of the hand) to land as close to the jack as possible. • The first player from the second team then tosses the ball. • The team with the closest ball stands back and allows the other team to toss their balls. • This team then continues to throw until or if their ball goes closer to the jack. • Once all 8 balls have been thrown, the ball closest to the jack is measured - if there are several balls from the one team closest to the ball - these are counted as 1 point each. • NO "DRIVES" ALLOWED. • If the jack is dislodged over the lines it is replaced back to its original position. MINI-GOLF - 2 holes to be played • Record the shots taken to get the ball into the hole. • If the ball is hit off the course, place it back on the fairway where it left. - Penalty: add one point to your score. • If it lands up against the edge, you can move it 2cm's off the wall without penalty. • If you cannot go through the trap after 3 shots, you can place the ball on the other side - Penalty: add one point to your score. • To keep in line with the other games scoring will be as follows: 10 shots or more = 1 point, 9 shots = 2 points, 8 shots = 3 points, 7 shots = 4 points, 6 shots = 5 points, 5 shots = 6 points, 4 shots = 7 points, 3 shots = 8 points, 2 shots = 9 points, 1 shot (hole in one) = 10 points) CRICKET - 1 game each team • Teams toss a coin and the winner bats – the rest of the team waits outside of the boundary. The fielding team has 4 positions: wicket keeper, bowler and mid fielder right and mid-fielder left. • Each player must play all positions within the game time. Bowler bowls 3 balls (underarm), to the batter. Once this has been done the fielding team swap positions within the field: Ie: Wicket-keeper moves to bowler, bowler moves to right-hand mid-fielder and right hand mid-fielder moves to left hand mid-fielder, left-hand mid-fielder moves to wicket keeper. • The batter hits the ball and runs to the marker: This constitutes 1 run. • Once the bowler has bowled 3 bowls – the batter retires and the next one comes in. The batter is out if the ball is caught in full flight or a stumping occurs. The fielding team must change when the batter changes. • Once all bowls have been bowled the game is over or if all batters are out. The teams change sides. • One Point will be allocated for each run scored. The batting team must record the number of runs on the score sheet. If the ball goes outside the cones without touching the ground = 6 runs. If the ball goes outside the cones but first touches the ground inside the cones = 4 runs • If the opposing team forfeits your team will receive 5 points. • Scores are totalled to calculate a team total on a scale system. LAWN BOWLS - 3 ends to be played • Each player has one bowl. Toss a coin to see who gets to go first on the first end - the other starts first on the second end. • The Kitty is rolled on the ground to the opposite end of the court in the marked area. If it goes out of bounds it can be placed in the area by hand. • Players must keep one foot on the mat at all times when bowling. Failure to do so will result in the bowl being disqualified. • The bowl must be rolled along the ground at all times. • If the Kitty is knocked out of play then it will be placed back 1ft (approx 30cm) inside the tape on the side it went out. • If the Kitty rebounds off the backboard it remains in play if it lands within the boundaries. • If a bowl hits the backboard, it is out of play. • Points scored for the number of bowls of one team closest to the kitty. ‘MEGA 4-IN-LINE’ (rules subject to change a this game being trialed for first fortnight) This game is similar to noughts and crosses. • Each player in each team takes a disc. • A coin is tossed to determine who will go first. Teams then alternate starting for the following games. • Person 1 from team A will slot their disc in to the frame, followed by person 1 from team B, then person 2 from team A, person 2 from team B and so on. • Players continue slotting in discs until one team gets four discs in a row (either up, down, sideways or diagonal) or until the game can not be resolved. • Point scoring system yet to be devised – will be devised following first week of play. • Teams continue to play as many games as they can in the ten-minute time slot. HANDBALL COMPETITION - 3 Throws per player • Each player gets 3 throws. • Object to be thrown will change each fortnight eg. football, netball, rugby ball or soccer ball • The aim is to get the maximum number of points as displayed on the board and in diagram below. • Teams points are totalled.
