Resident Activities
1)
Doctor’s Dilemma (aka Medical Jeopardy): each Internal Medicine Program is asked to send a team of 3
Residents composed of either interns or second year residents. For Alabama participants, AL ACP will pay the residents a
check in the amount of one night standard hotel room (one night plus tax) with receipt following the meeting. The
residents will be responsible for their own reservations, making and canceling, and for paying for them. Winning teams
on the first day will compete in the finals the second day.
The highest finishing Alabama team will be invited to participate in the Doctor’s Dilemma competition at the National
Meeting in the Spring of 2018. We ask that you choose from your PGY1 and PGY2s classes, so that if your team wins the
competition the residents will still be in your program by the time they go to the National Meeting.
SCHEDULE: Round 1: Friday June 2, 2:45pm
Round 2: Saturday June 3, 2:00pm

Oral Vignette competition: Each program is asked to select one competitor. Seven submissions will be
considered (five AL Programs plus two MS Programs) with the top 5 going through to the oral competition, and the other
two entered into the poster competition. For Alabama Chapter participants, AL ACP will pay the residents a check in the
amount of one night standard hotel room (one night plus tax) with receipt following the meeting. The residents will be
responsible for their own reservations, making and canceling, and for paying for them.
The winner of this competition will be invited to present his/her case in poster form at the National Meeting in the Spring
of 2018. We also ask that you choose from your PGY1 and PGY2s classes, so that if they win the competition they will
still be in your program by the time they go to the National Meeting.

Poster competition: we will have a poster competition for Residents. We will accept clinical vignettes or research
abstracts. This will be a poster session separate from the clinical vignette oral presentations.
AL ACP will pay the residents a check in the amount of one night standard hotel room (one night plus tax) with receipt
