Note: Upon applying for a sanction permit, centres/associations agree to abide by and enforce OSHA
Tournament Regulations. All permits are issued upon this condition. If any of these conditions are not met
then the sanction is void.
Sample Sanction Conditions:
1. The tournament must be conducted using OSHA rules. Any variance requires a written submission at
time of application to the OSHA Rules Committee. A written decision to accept/reject such requests will be
provided.
2. The tournament must use Hockey Canada certified referees with sledge experience is expected.
3. The tournament cannot be operated by private enterprise, for profit.
4. All players must have insurance coverage.

TOURNAMENT REGULATIONS
This document includes the rules and playing conditions that will be in effect for all tournaments sanctioned by
the Ontario Sledge Hockey Association (OSHA).
1. OSHA Official Playing Rules are in effect during Ontario Sledge Hockey Association sanctioned tournament
play. The OSHA Playing Rules are available on the OSHA website: http://www.ontariosledge.com/Rules.htm
2. On-Ice officials must be certified by Hockey Canada. See OSHA “Officials Certification” document for
suggested guidelines.
3. Registration Procedures: you will be asked to provide information to ensure players and teams are eligible to
participate. This information may include, but is not limited to proof that each player is insured: submit a roster
and insurance numbers.
4. Rosters
a. Release and proof of insurance must be provided to Host Committee
b. Variances must be approved by Host Committee through application
5. Any dispute arising from the interpretation of the tournament rules will be settled by the tournament officials.
All decisions are final and no appeals are allowed.
6. Match penalties and other disciplinary matters are to be reported immediately to Tournament Office. Player
suspensions for various infractions will be administered as per Ontario Sledge Hockey Association rules.
7. Any team permitting a player to participate in a game that he/she is ineligible for will automatically forfeit the
game 3-0 and the winning team awarded 5 points in the standings.
8. All teams will be allowed one (1) 30 second time out per game.
9. All players must wear face-mask and neckguards. Teams will not be allowed on the ice without this protective
equipment and would forfeit the game(s).
10. The schedule, when set will be final with no changes unless Tournament Scheduler must do so due to
unforeseen events.
11. Acceptance of the team’s entry releases the Ontario Sledge Hockey Association, The Tournament
Committee, Officials, the Arena Management and all connected with the Tournament from any liability for injury
or accident which may be incurred by a player or team official while travelling to/from or attending/participating in
the Tournament.
12. Divisions offered for the tournament are determined by the Host Organizing Committee, following OSHA
Rules.
13. Tournament results cannot count toward league standings.
