School Effectiveness and Literacy Mondays: On June 8th, we had our professional development / literacy wrap up. It was a wonderful opportunity to have time to reflect on all the "new learning" teachers have done over the year. Teachers engaged in a book study on How's It Going? and Lost at School and analyzed student writing samples. This assisted teachers in their writing conferences and classroom instruction. 2015/16 Class Lists Parents, please send in your email addresses ASAP to your child’s teacher so that teachers can update their contact information as the class lists will be emailed to parents and not posted publically. Lockdown & Fire Drill We will be practicing our lock down and fire drill within the next few weeks. Answering Service We are in the process of getting an answering service here at Elm Street. This will be used for reporting attendance/absenteeism only. Criminal Record Checks for Year End Field Trips A reminder to parents, that if you want to participate as a chaperone during the year end field trips, a Criminal Background Check is required. Please bring your original letter into the school as copies will not be accepted. These take time to complete so please give your police detachment plenty of time to complete this. Drop by the school to pick up your form and there will be no fee to complete your check. Important Reminder to Parents/Guardians Just a reminder to all parents/guardians to always check in to the office if you are dropping things off to a student or picking him/her up. You are required to sign in and take a visitor pass to access the school hallways, if you are given permission to do so by the office.
