The NWCA has discontinued recognizing a scholastic wrestler of the year
2015-16
Award Winners;
New York NWCA Scholastic Assistant Coach of The Year Robert Zetzsche has been assistant at Newark Valley of section 4
for the past 18 years, has made a tremendous contribution to the program. He has helped produce over 100 Sectional
Place winners with 18 section 4 champions, 19 state qualifiers and 5 state place finishers.
New York NWCA Scholastic Head Coach of The Year Brian Uvena of North Babylon section 11 has been coaching over 35
years. Coach Uvena also coached at Whitman High School 1986-1989, and wrestled in high school at Huntington class of
1976 under legionary coach Lou Giani.
