Welcome to the Fall 2016 season of Clarke County youth soccer!
REGISTRATION: REGISTER ONLINE AND HELP CCYSA KEEP OUR COSTS DOWN! Registrations must be postmarked
or received no later than July 16th. The registration fee is $50/child for recreational league (U6-U12) and $60/child for SFL (U14U19). If you would like to be considered for a scholarship, please submit the scholarship application with the registration form.
Scholarship applications must be received/postmarked by July 16th to be reviewed for the Fall 2016 season. Your child is not
registered until payment is complete.
LATE REGISTRATION: Those registrations postmarked or received after July 16th will be considered late. The
registration fee after July 16th is $65/child for rec league (U6-U12) and $75/child for SFL league (U14-U19). These players will be
placed on teams as space becomes available, on a first come first serve basis. Late registrations are not guaranteed placement on a
team. Late registration is cutoff on August 6th, so that coaches can be found, teams rostered and equipment ordered.
BIRTH CERT: First time your child is playing with CCYSA? You must provide a copy of their birth certificate with registration.
DIVISIONS: Ages on the divisions have been modified to birth year, in accordance with VYSA. All players and teams are resorting
to this structure. If your player “played up” last season, please note that on the form.
PRACTICES: Practices will be held Monday thru Friday for one hour each, from either 5-6pm or 6-7pm. The U6 teams will practice
one night a week; and parents are expected to remain at practice with their child. The U8, U10, U12, U14, U16 and U19 teams will
practice two nights a week. The practices will be held either at the Clarke County Parks and Recreation Center or possibly JW Middle
School. Each parent is responsible for getting their children to & from practices & games. The practice days and times are
determined by the coach, so actual practice days for your child will not be known until mid-August when the coaches are assigned
teams. If there is one day a week that you cannot practice, please mark it on your registration, but keep in mind that limiting your
availability may prevent us from keeping siblings to the same practice days.
GAMES: Games will be held on Saturdays. The first games will be held on Saturday, September 10th. The last game will be held
on Saturday, June 4th for most, not counting rain make-ups or tournaments. The U6, U8, U10 and U12 games are held at the CCPR
fields. The U14, U16 and U19 teams will play home games at the CCPR fields and be required to travel to surrounding counties for
away games. Games will not be scheduled on Labor Day weekend.
UNIFORMS: Every child must be equipped with shin guards at practices & games. Soccer socks and molded cleats (not metal) must
be worn for games, in addition to the team shirt provided by CCYSA. You may be able to find needed items through our Equipment
Exchange (you don’t need to trade equipment to get equipment). Additionally, U6 players will receive a free soccer ball.
VOLUNTEERS: Please remember that CCYSA is run completely by volunteers. If you can offer any assistance, please let us know
in what capacity. We are always in need of coaches and are willing to train anyone interested. Experience is a plus, but not a
necessity. CCYSA maintains a library of books & videos and clinics are offered at least annually. There is also a great deal of
information on our website under the “Coaches” tab, including coaching manuals and the rules of youth soccer. If coaching isn’t your
thing, the Board of Directors is always looking for volunteers to help throughout the season.
CODE OF CONDUCT: A breach in the Code of Conduct may result in dismissal from the CCYSA league with no refunds given.
Players & parents: Respect your coach, your referee, your teammates and your opposition!
SPECIAL REQUESTS: Team requests will only be honored from the coach, assistant coach & team sponsor. Other players will be
rostered as best suits the needs of the league (achieving even gender and age ratios). CCYSA makes an effort to consolidate sibling
practices to the same nights.
FAQ: Frequently Asked Questions are answered on our website (www.clarkesoccer.org). You can also find lots of useful info there,
including schedules (practice, game, team pictures), field maps, forms (registration, medical release, code of conduct), coaching
manuals, referee information, even field closures. Be sure to check it throughout the season! It is continually updated.
