El Camino College’s new instructional and athletic complex with estimated completion in late 2015
The Department of Health, Science and Athletics would like to take this opportunity to
welcome you to our campus. We have developed this guide to assist you with your needs
and make your visit a pleasant one. El Camino College is proud to offer a wide array of
intercollegiate athletic programs. Currently twenty-one intercollegiate athletic programs are
offered at the college. Warrior Athletics has a strong commitment to skill achievement, our
Scholar-Baller program and sportsmanship.
The campus is currently going through a growth period in which many facilities are being
renovated while at the same time new state of the art facilities are being added. We will try
to provide you with up to date information as to our construction effort prior to your visit.
Athletic programs that are currently being affected are softball and tennis. We anticipate
further changes to track, soccer and volleyball in the future.
The athletic staff consists of advocates for the development of student-athletes, their
families and the community. This highly skilled staff will be there to assist you with your
needs upon your arrival.

We have strict parking rules and regulations on our campus. You must have a GUEST PARKING PERMIT, which is
good for one day only. WE CANNOT VOID CITATIONS ONCE THEY ARE ISSUED. Enclosed is a campus map
indicating the area of the contest and parking area. If you plan to park in the STAFF PARKING LOT, you will need to
obtain a parking permit from the coach upon your arrival. School or State Vehicles and Buses are exempt. All unmarked
vehicles, including rentals must have a parking permit.

Event Management Guidelines
Situations may arise at anytime during athletic contests or practices. Appropriate information is needed by host and
visiting teams in the event of these situations. Expedient action must be taken in order to provide the best possible care
to the athletes, spectators and/or staff in emergency and/or life threatening conditions. Staff and Spectator management
is a necessity at all times. Emergencies can occur at anytime day or night. The event management team must be
prepared to care for and manage any and all situations in an emergency.
This packet will detail information needed by the event management team in case of emergency and or special situation.
Preparation and communication is a key to the success of this group. Various application of the emergency
preparedness plan will be conducted throughout the year. This preparation involves formulation of an emergency plan,
proper coverage of events, maintenance of appropriate emergency equipment and supplies, utilization of appropriate
emergency medical personnel, and continuing education in the area of emergency medicine.
It is suggested, but not required by district policy, that all athletic staff be certified in first aid and CPR. All athletic training
staff will be current in first aid and CPR for the professional rescuer.
1. General Information
1.1. The Department of Health Science and Athletics will adhere to institution and CCCAA policies, procedures and
constitution in establishing and maintainance of a sound athletic program.
1.1.1. Athletic programs and staff can refer to CCCAA constitution for further guidance in conducting programs
and competitions.
1.1.2. CCCAA decorum policy will be in affect for all athletic competitions.
1.2. A member of the game management team will be available during all athletic events.
1.3. Athletic Trainer will be available prior to, during and after all athletic competitions.
1.4. The Athletic Director or designate will be available for athletic contest.
1.4.1. If the Athletic Director is unavailable a member of the game management team will provide necessary
supervision of event.
1.5. Facility shall be cleared 15 minutes after the conclusion of the contest.
1.6. Campus police and the athletic director shall be contacted for any and all security issues.
1.7. Campus decorum and student code of conduct is in effect at all times.

2.2. The team will act as a unit communicating information and coverage to all members at all times.

4. Athletic Event Emergencies
4.1. In-Season emergencies will be assessed by the team physician or designate, certified athletic trainer, or
visiting certified athletic trainer as determined by staffing available and contest.
4.1.1. Activate the athletic emergency plan
4.1.2. Areas of concern:
 Secure the scene
 Remove teams from immediate area
 Contact campus police
 Open emergency access areas
4.2. Non-traditional season emergencies will be handled by campus police, student health center and the
certified athletic trainer through established campus emergency procedures
4.2.1. Athletic training room will be notified of any athletic emergencies
5. Security- El Camino College employs a full complement of uniformed police officers for the safety and security
of our event during contests.
5.1. A representative from the event management team will be available at all times.
5.1.1. Locker room will be locked and secured before and during the contest

5.2.1. Unauthorized use or access.
5.2.2. Disruptive, abusive or uncooperative individuals.

5.3. Campus Security is responsible for gates accessing murdock stadium during events
5.3.1. FIELD ACCESS POLICY
5.3.1.1. No admittance without El Camino issued sideline passes.
5.3.1.2. Sideline passes will be issued to Administrator and/or Head Coach prior to event.
5.3.1.3. No admittance of individuals under age thirteen (13) during contest.
5.3.1.4. Individuals must stay in designated area during event.
5.3.2. POST GAME POLICY
5.3.2.1. North end of stadium for visiting team.
5.3.2.2. South end of stadium for home team.
5.3.2.3. Spectators
5.3.2.3.1. To remain in stands for duration of contest.
5.3.2.3.2. Access granted after handshake.
5.3.2.3.3. Access denied if contest exhibited inappropriate behavior.
6. Natural Disasters
6.1. The event management personnel will be called on to activate the emergency action plan of the college
during emergency situations, which includes but is not limited to the following;
6.1.1. Implement safety office protocol during emergencies
 Evacuate facilities
 Contact campus police ext. 3100
 Assess situation and potential dangers
 Triage injured individuals
 Direct uninjured individuals out of building
