What has been happening?
Have you checked out our programme planning wall?
So much amazing learning has been happening. The tamariki have been learning all about the life
cycle of a caterpillar. After returning from the holidays and noticing that our swan plants where
crawling with little yellow and black creepy crawly caterpillars. This sparked a huge interest with the
tamariki at Montessori. So we have been learning all about their life cycle. Our swan plants are by the
turtle tank, most of our caterpillars have now put themselves into chrysalises. Not cocoons, we
found out that only moths weave silk cocoons around themselves. We used our investigation
skills and ICT knowledge to further research this once we read the “hungry caterpillar” story
and got a bit confused with the difference of a cocoon and chrysalises.

REMINDERS? Have you checked your parent pockets lately? There is a survey
in there that supports our current self-review. Please have a read and let us
know your thoughts and feelings on this? Your feedback is valuable and very
much appreciated! It makes a difference in your child’s learning environment for
the better  This current self-review is about YOUR daily input into your
childs/tamariki learning! And how we as a teaching team support this 

Change of clothes  please put in at least 3 x pairs of clothes! We have A LOT of water
and messy play during the hot summer months!

SUN HATS: no sun hat no outside play! we have spare ones here if you forget 

MARTIN the photographer has been here all week taking some AMAZING photos of your tamariki !
These will be arriving at Montessori within the next 2 weeks. We will explain to you how you can go
about ordering these photos when they arrive! The photos are absolutely beautiful and Martin did have
fabulous job at photographing your tamariki in play and work 

Becks Maternity leave: Becks last day of work will be on April 1st which is a Friday. We
will keep you posted on what is happening with the relieving teacher for the 6 months
Becks is away on maternity. We will have this in the march news letter

