Dear Parent,
The last few summers Evangel Christian Education launched a fun and innovative concept in Vacation Bible
School entitled, “MEGA Sports Camp” in which children learned sports skills while also learning of God’s
MEGA love for them!
MEGA Sports Camp has been such a big hit that we are bringing it back in 2017 for our
5th year anniversary! It will be bigger and better than ever with a brand new theme,
“Conquer the Day” …and with even more options for our kids including sports, arts, technical,
adventure (outdoor laser tag, etc.) and even horses. Yes horses! WOW!
Even more...this year we are bringing in Super Bowl Champion Ben Utecht of the
Indianapolis Colts (2006 Super Bowl) on Tuesday, July 18 to speak, sing (yes he sings!) and to
sign autographs and show everyone his Super Bowl ring!
Our theme verse for MEGA Kid Camp this year is a great one! It’s this:
“In all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us”. Romans 8:37






A Few Highlights
Children from Pre-K (age 4) – Grade 6 are invited to participate.
All children in attendance will be immersed in sports, arts, music, tech, horse training, adventure sports
& innovative Bible teaching.
Children from Kindergarten – Grade 6 will choose from one of the three sports:
soccer, basketball, & cheerleading or one of three Arts options: creative art project
(painting/sculpture), Legos building projects (K-Grade 3), Legos Robotics (Grades 4-6)
or Adventure sports like outdoor laser tag or Horse training under the direction of
Cowboy Mark Rader culminating in a trail ride on Thursday, July 20 on live horses!
(children must be 8 years old to be eligible for the horse option)
Pre-K children will enjoy special sports and games customized for their age level this year in a gym all
their own that is quiet and designed just for them!
Skill leaders for sports and arts will be local high school coaches, teachers, athletes, or Lego Robotics
team members.
Special appearances by celebrities will occur all week long with “Slider” and “Slap-Shot” from the
Rochester Honkers and Ice-Hawks on Monday... Super Bowl Champion Ben Utecht on Tuesday... and
Cowboy Mark and Camp mascot Mega every day!
That’s not all! In addition to learning sports & art skills, your children will also enjoy upbeat rallies filled with
energetic music, fun sports stories, ultra- cool object lessons and Bible stories that will help them discover
character traits that can help them excel in life. These spiritual learning activities will be led by Evangel’s
Jim Klepper and other Rochester church leaders, Pastors, and helpers.
All children who register will receive quality sports, arts, adventure and horse training; a newly designed
2017 MEGA Camp T-shirt, snacks, take home sports flash papers, wristbands, fun awards, the
opportunity to meet some sports celebrities and an unforgettable Bible experience that teaches Biblical
character that honors Jesus.
All of this will take place at:
Century High School (National Volleyball Center)
Monday, July 17- Thursday, July 20 ~ 8:45 a.m. –Noon
We hope to register up to 300 kids this year! And please remember... even though the camp is growing, your
child will always have a small group leader with a ratio of 1 older youth or adult to 7 children...with lots of
other adults always nearby! The camp is big... yet small... with children being closely supervised by their own
small group “huddle coach”.
In addition to inviting other churches and organizations to participate, we will once again be offering amazing
prize incentives to all children who invite friends. (New prizes for 2017)

If your child invites one friend, who attends, they will receive a really cool Frisbee.

If your child invites two friends, who attend, they will receive a Frisbee AND a Mega Kids Camp deluxe
water bottle and Gospel ball!

If your child invites three friends, who attend, they will receive a Frisbee, Mega Kids Camp deluxe
water bottle and Gospel ball and a $10 gift card to the movies!

If your child invites four or more friends, who attend, they will be given all the prizes above PLUS be
put into a drawing for a grand prize of a brand new bike.
More good news! The camp for the entire week will still remain only $25 for the entire week!

P.S. We would like every child who wants to attend Evangel Mega kid’s camp to be able to attend so
scholarship monies are available. We will not deny any child for camp for monetary reasons. Check
the registration form if you would like to be considered for CONFIDENTIAL scholarship funds.
P.S.S We will also need volunteers to help with various needs of the camp like snacks, huddle coaches,
registration “runners” and more. Check the volunteer form also included in this mailing if you want to
be part of the fun!
