Farm Air

Thank you for purchasing Farm Air by TakeFlight Interactive, we hope you have as much fun playing this as we
did making it! This is a set of 5 scenarios which put the user in the boots of a freshly-hired aerial application
pilot.
Aircraft
This pack uses three aircraft – the default Maule, Alabeo’s PA-36 Pawnee Brave, and the default R-22
helicopter. The helicopter is used in one scenario, while the other four scenarios give the user the option of
flying the PA-36 DLC or using the default Maule. While we built these scenarios with the PA-36 in mind, the
Maule provides its own unique challenges!
Multiplayer
Episode 5 is able to be played in multiplayer! Challenge your friends to see who can dust a crop the fastest!
Unfortunately, FSX multiplayer isn’t quite designed for this type of competition, so there are a few quirks: the
scenario has no “Success” or “Fail”, just a dialog line announcing the winner. Additionally, if a player crashes
during the competition, they will be respawned and be able to fly through parcels, but will be unable to trigger
a victory.
Scenarios
Each scenario provides a unique challenge which builds on skills learned in previous scenarios. Some scenarios
are time trials while others will fail you if you don’t perform well enough. These scenarios can be difficult – it
takes trial and error to succeed. Remember, losing is part of the fun!
Episode 1: Dustdevil
As a new hire at a local aerial application firm, you need to prove you have what it takes to be a crop duster.
Fly over each parcel as fast as possible, and be sure to stay low enough to effectively spray the crop (the
maximum altitude is indicated by the translucent roof over each square). Try to finish the field as fast as
possible – remember, time is money!
Episode 2: Whirlwind
You wrote on your resume that you have a helicopter license – you’re going to need it now! A surprise drop in
temperature is threatening to destroy local crops. You’ve been scrambled to use your rotor downwash to dry
some grapes before frost can form. Better hurry, if the vintners see their crops freezing, they’ll lose all hope
and you’ll lose the contract!
Episode 3: Duster
You’re starting to get the hang of this crop dusting thing – but now you’ve been assigned the field everybody
dreads. Johnson’s field is large, irregularly-shaped, and broken up by buildings and trees. Still, that’s no
excuse for a poor performance! Do your best and earn the gratitude of your coworkers.
Episode 4: Firewhirl
It’s been a hot summer and the fields are dry – that’s the perfect recipe for a brush fire. A regular customer
has run into that situation and is watching his crop go up in smoke – time to pull a little double duty as a Single
Engine Air Tanker! Fly low enough to effectively drop water on the fire – but watch out for turbulence. The
fire can spread fast and if it gets bad enough a firewhirl can form. Try not to let that happen…
Episode 5: Twister
You’ve proven your worth to the company, but are you the best? You’ve been challenged by the company’s
number-one pilot to see who can dust a field the fastest. Good luck!
